According to Hillary Clinton and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), a 'person' is ONLY someone who has already been 'born alive' as part of an attempt to 'do away with' criminal penalties New York's current law that prohibits abortions after 24 weeks, the point increasingly understood to be viability.

This is there attempt to protect anyone who breaks current New York law by engaging in barbaric 'Extreme Late-Term Abortions'.

Clinton claimed that protecting people from judicial punishment for making the decision to kill a baby capable of surviving outside the womb - at any point until the baby is completely out of the womb is critical and is something to be celebrated.

"Twice-failed presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) Monday to announce that they would be pushing to codify Roe v. Wade in New York’s law in the next 30 days now that Democrats are in control of the state’s Senate. They plan to do so through a measure that would permit late-term abortions.

New York's current law, which was in place three years prior to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade, prohibits abortions after 24 weeks, the point
increasingly understood to be viability, unless the procedure is necessary to save a women's life.

It also does away with criminal penalties for self-abortion and defines "'Person,' when referring to the victim of a homicide," to mean "a human being who has been born and is alive."

Both Hillary Clinton and Gov. Cuomo praised the late-term pro-abortion measure."

As long as such an abortion is performed ONLY in order to save the mother's life then I have no problem with this; however, to eliminate judicial punishment for taking action to save the mother's life at any point did / does not require Liberals to attempt to re-define 'Person' as 'someone already having been born alive'.

Cuomo and Clinton, IMO, seek to establish precedence / law recognizing that a baby capable of surviving outside the womb, who has a heartbeat, who is cognizant of its surroundings, that feels pain is NOT a 'human being' until it is delivered completely out of the mother's womb.

("a 'person' is ONLY someone who has already been 'born alive'" -- I am glad they added that 'alive' at the end of their new definition, so as not to confuse people with those already born 'DEAD'. :p)

Personally I don't give a fuck. The involved potential parents can manage their own lives. The theater that american society feels anything at all for the sanctity of life is horseshit. Look at our history and our 8 endless generational ongoing wars with our global empirical military footprint.

So we should give up all attempts to 'interfere' into others' lives by trying to protect the 'sanctity of life', we should just 'butt out' and allow the killing of babies at any stage in pregnancy for any reason...allow murder, genocide...the breakdown of respect for life ... morality...and thus, eventually society itself?

Here's what good old Webster's dictionary says what a person is. None of the descriptions fit a zygote, embryo or fetus. Nor are those words used or anything in reference to a pregnancy.

Seems to me it's you who doesn't know what the meaning of the word person is.

Is English your second language?

person

1: HUMAN, INDIVIDUAL —sometimes used in combination especially by those who prefer to avoid man in compounds applicable to both sexeschairpersonspokesperson

2: a character or part in or as if in a play : GUISE

3a: one of the three modes of being in the Trinitarian Godhead as understood by Christians

b: the unitary personality of Christ that unites the divine and human natures

4aarchaic : bodily appearance

b: the body of a human beingalso : the body and clothing unlawful search of the person

5: the personality of a human being : SELF

6: one (such as a human being, a partnership, or a corporation) that is recognized by law as the subject of rights and duties

7: reference of a segment of discourse to the speaker, to one spoken to, or to one spoken of as indicated by means of certain pronouns or in many languages by verb inflection

That disqualifies hitlery and Queermo as human then.

Those assholes are walking abortions.

In America, a person is a living human being with rights. The dead and the unborn do not have protected rights - yet. But let us declare the unborn as persons.

Then some of us can go after mothers for child abuse. We can sue over custodial rights and the courts can appoint Guardians ad litem, of an unborn fetus, declaring it a person with equal rights to that of the mother.

And we can celebrate as persons , a fetus without a fully developed brain.. Almost like the brain dead in hospitals and nursing homes,, or like the brain dead here @ usmb

dystopia here we come! LOL

So its okay to kill 'brain dead' people in hospitals and nursing homes?

FYI, there was a story in the news not long ago about how a woman who was in an un-recoverable vegetative state gave birth....

I would hope so. We do. I remember when my friend's father was rushed to a hospital. Sad. His brains stopped, but they hitched the guy up to a heart/ling machine that did the breathing and heart beating routine -- because it was the law that when pronounced dead - Brain dead/kaput - a hospital had to keep a body plugged in for I believe it was 48 or 72 hours.

The suffering, doubts, and pain that family had to go through.

and this shit: "there was a story in the news not long ago about how a woman who was in an un-recoverable vegetative state gave birth..." - no one gave birth. doctors had to intervene, and unnatural birth like c-section is unnatural. but now I'll try and find the story and show what an idiot you are

I remembered this one: The woman's son was born with a heart defect and underwent his second heart surgery on Feb. 27. It was the only known case of someone becoming pregnant and giving birth in a comalike state. Woman Who Gave Birth in a Coma Dies 1996/1997

https://www.nytimes.com/1996/01/25/nyregion/woman-29-still-in-10-year-coma-is-pregnant-by-a-rapist.html
But a sudden swerve off a road thrust her car into a tree and her into a coma that never lifted over the next decade. Fed by a tube, swaddled in a diaper, she aged from 19 to 29 with little change in her condition.

Then in late December, the staff attending her at a nursing home in Brighton, a suburb on this city's southeastern edge, noticed a puzzling difference: her belly was growing bigger.

The police said that doctors first checked for a digestive blockage, then did three separate tests before relaying their discovery to criminal authorities and the patient's stunned family on New Year's Eve. The woman was pregnant, the victim of a rape.

But the issues it raises outside of what constitutes a coma, and the diagnosis/reality of being brain dead :: being in a coma, and having a dead brain are two separate things. so poeople like easyt65 really need to lay off the hallelujah koolaid
Several prominent biomedical ethicists said that while they can cite cases of pregnant women who fell into comas or suffered brain death, they cannot recall any other case of a woman's becoming pregnant while already in one of those conditions.

They said this case raises troubling ethical concerns. "There's some question here about using her as a vessel," said Ellen Moskowitz, a health care lawyer and bioethicist at the Hastings Center in Briarcliff Manor. "Does that recognize her humanity? Is this something that offends the natural order?"

In addition, Ms. Moskowitz said, "You could wonder about the effects of a child born of this arrangement. What kind of explanation is due this child, and what are the potential harms that could flow from that?"

sleazy easy's story:
A near-drowning had left the woman in a persistent vegetative state A Woman In Coma Gave Birth. Now Police Are Investigating Sexual Assault for nearly a decade. Awake but immobile, and apparently unaware, her universe consisted mostly of a room at a Phoenix Hacienda HealthCare facility where she received round-the-clock care.

And so a few days after Christmas, her caretakers were flummoxed when she went into labor.

Reading comprehension (and biology) fail on YOUR part.

What is it that is neither HUMAN nor INDIVIDUAL about a "human individual" who is in the zygote, embryo or fetal stage of their life AS a "human individual?"

Do tell.

There are people out there who claim that a fertilized egg is a baby.

I seriously doubt that someone would take a pregnancy to 24 weeks and then have an abortion absent dire circumstances. It just isn't logical.

Has the woman in the green jacket and glasses received mental health treatment yet?
