According to Hillary Clinton and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), a 'person' is ONLY someone who has already been 'born alive' as part of an attempt to 'do away with' criminal penalties New York's current law that prohibits abortions after 24 weeks, the point increasingly understood to be viability.
This is there attempt to protect anyone who breaks current New York law by engaging in barbaric 'Extreme Late-Term Abortions'.
Clinton claimed that protecting people from judicial punishment for making the decision to kill a baby capable of surviving outside the womb - at any point until the baby is completely out of the womb is critical and is something to be celebrated.
"Twice-failed presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) Monday to announce that they would be pushing to codify Roe v. Wade in New York’s law in the next 30 days now that Democrats are in control of the state’s Senate. They plan to do so through a measure that would permit late-term abortions.
New York's current law, which was in place three years prior to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade, prohibits abortions after 24 weeks, the point increasingly understood to be viability, unless the procedure is necessary to save a women's life.
It also does away with criminal penalties for self-abortion and defines "'Person,' when referring to the victim of a homicide," to mean "a human being who has been born and is alive."
Both Hillary Clinton and Gov. Cuomo praised the late-term pro-abortion measure."
As long as such an abortion is performed ONLY in order to save the mother's life then I have no problem with this; however, to eliminate judicial punishment for taking action to save the mother's life at any point did / does not require Liberals to attempt to re-define 'Person' as 'someone already having been born alive'.
Cuomo and Clinton, IMO, seek to establish precedence / law recognizing that a baby capable of surviving outside the womb, who has a heartbeat, who is cognizant of its surroundings, that feels pain is NOT a 'human being' until it is delivered completely out of the mother's womb.
Hillary Clinton Joins Andrew Cuomo in Push for Extreme Late-Term Abortion Bill in New York
("a 'person' is ONLY someone who has already been 'born alive'" -- I am glad they added that 'alive' at the end of their new definition, so as not to confuse people with those already born 'DEAD'. )
