The only possible purpose of impeachment hearings one year before the election is to influence the election. That means the DNC is campaigning on the taxpayers dime. Normally, there would be a debate on the House floor and then a vote on impeachment, but Nancy has said the House committees will continue their investigations, so her message basically is that they will continue to do what they have been doing but it should be taken more seriously by voters. She's trying to appease the radicals like AOC without alienating the moderates.

Hillary clearly understands that all the skeletons are going to come out of Biden's closet and sees Trump humiliating the Dems again in 2020. However, Hillary is too stupid to see that this announcement by Pelosi means she has lost control of the Party to extremists like AOC and this bodes badly for the Democrats. If Hillary could have seen beyond her hurt feelings, she would not have endorsed such a desperate move.
