Yes, I'm concerned about how safe a place is and I think that safety should be dealt with better in the US.

The US has a road fatality rate of 10.6 per 100,000

The UK has a road fatality rate of 2.9 per 100,000
Sweden 2.8
Switzerland 3.3
Holland 3.4
Denmark 3.5

This is where the US should be aiming. But once again the politicians aren't doing their jobs properly.

So the UK has a murder rate 4 times lower, a traffic accident rate nearly 4 times lower too.... it manages to deal with BOTH of these issues while the US can't deal with either.

Most modern cars go fast enough to kill, and those cars need the speed to even go on our very modern high speed highways. And we need those high speed cars to get to work and other important places.
