Zone1 Hello from the former Grand-Duchy of Baden in South-West-Germany

Here now is the Badnerlied, our "national anthem": :)

Das Badnerlied (Baden)

Das schönste Land in Deutschlands Gau'n,
das ist mein Badner Land.
Es ist so herrlich anzuschaun
und ruht in Gottes Hand.

(Refrain:)
D’rum grüß ich dich mein Badnerland,
du edle Perl’ im deutschen Land, deutschen Land.
frisch auf, frisch auf; frisch auf, frisch auf;
frisch auf, frisch auf mein Badnerland.

Zu Karlsruh’ ist die Residenz,
in Mannheim die Fabrik.
In Rastatt ist die Festung
und das ist Badens Glück.

D’rum grüß ich dich …

Alt-Heidelberg, du feine,
du Stadt an Ehren reich,
am Neckar und am Rheine,
kein’ and’re kommt dir gleich.

D’rum grüß ich dich …

Zu Haslach gräbt man Silbererz,
Bei Freiburg wächst der Wein,
im Schwarzwald schöne Mädchen,
ein Badner möcht’ ich sein.

And here is the English translation: :)

The Baden Tune

The most beautiful land in Germany
that is my land of Baden
it is so magnificent to look upon
and rests in the hand of God

(REF:)
And so, I greet you, my land of Baden
You noble pearl of Germany
Arise, arise; arise, arise!
Arise, arise my Badnerland!

The Palace is in Karlsruhe,
The factories, in Mannheim
In Rastatt, there is the stronghold
And that is Baden's fortune.

And so, I greet you...

Old Heidelberg, you noble city,
rich in honors
On the banks of the Neckar and the Rhine,
you are without equal.

And so, I greet you...

Silver ore is mined in Haslach,
In Freiburg, wine is grown,
In the Black Forest, maidens fair
I would like to be a Badner.

Not German beer - that's the same piss as American beer,, but Southern German or rather BAVARIAN Beer. :D
.

Okay. I just remember my brother telling me about his visit to Germany and being able to get piss-drunk without having a hangover the next day.

That explains it. He spent the night drinking in a hofbräuhaus in Munich.

Thanks for the correction.

I managed to achieve this with drinking Moosehead beer - IIRC it's Canadian. :)

.

I believe it is.

My brother's home brew was of similar quality because he loved the Bavarian beer so much. It was a very satisfying hobby for him to research the legislated differences in the standards of brewing and create a brew inspired by Bavarian beer.

Hello from the former Grand-Duchy of Baden in South-West-Germany! :)

That is the long title.

Or: Hello from a place between the Black Forest and the River Rhine!

Here it is 26 min after 10 in the evening.

So I say also: Good night! :)
Welcome!

Meet the unofficial mascot, it has a little something for everyone!

Moosehead is Canadian and strong.

A friend of mine's uncle tricked us.

We went up to visit him and he lives near Canada, so we get there and he's got a cooler with 100 beers in it.

3 beers in and I'm buzzed bad..

4 beers in and I pass out on the picnic table and my buddy passes out in the bushes.

All beers in that cooler were from Canada and stronger than American beer.

LaBatts is what got me.

I like that German beer..Warsteiner!

Many Germans I've met drink that.

If you asked me about German wines, I would say:

I like these white wines: Riesling, Weißburgunder, Traminer and Gewützraminer
And these red eines: Spätburgunder, Regent, Trollinger, and Schwarz-Riesling.

And a lot of other wines worldwide. :)
