I wish I didn't have to either. BUT, we're under assault by a swarm of soul solicitors lately, from christians to muslims, and capitalists to commies, and the list goes on ...
We're under attack by those that want EVERYONE else to bow down and believe and worship and do as their religion/politics/superstitions commands.

My three children, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter would disagree whole heartedly about the hate. Some of my oldest grandsons just might tear you a new arsehole over it.
As far as life being more enjoyable. I'm 77 years old and about spent. I still mow and trim an acre and a half and do some gardening but my manly days are gone. I will enjoy it if Americans finally use their good sense and lay all this worship of ancient gods imagined by folks who believed in witchcraft and thought the earth was flat, to rest......once and for all.

They come to my door too. I say "No thank you" and they walk away. They don't come back day after day with a new way to insult my belief system.
Someone wishing you "Merry Christmas" is in no way implying you should bow down to my brand of beliefs. A Christmas tree in the park does you no harm. "In God We Trust" on the back of a dollar bill is not an assault of your sensibilities. To see it as such and then make demands that we accommodate YOU seems a bit more obtrusive than a missionary knocking at your door.

1) Mankind and dinosaurs on a boat till nearly four mile deep waters receded/evaporated
2) Big fish puking up live men
3) Men enduring a 1200 degreefurnace
4) Seas opening long enough for the white hats to pass then closing on the bad guys
5) Stone walls falling on command
6) Evil people being turned into salt
7) The sun blacked out by an invisilbe man in the sky
8) 5,000 hungry pilgrims plus women and children
being fed with two fish and five loaves then twelve baskets of leftovers collected
9) Virgin Birth
10) Healing leprosy by touching
