In the 1940's a corporate executive made about 12-15 times what a plumber or assembly line worker earned. By the 70's that figure had grown to about 50 times. In 2010 an average CEO made about 550 times what an ordinary worker earned plus company provided jet aircraft, all expense paid world travel, magic umbrellas etc. These charts shows the effects of low tax rates for the wealthy much better than any verbiage I might come up with:
