In the 1940's a corporate executive made about 12-15 times what a plumber or assembly line worker earned. By the 70's that figure had grown to about 50 times. In 2010 an average CEO made about 550 times what an ordinary worker earned plus company provided jet aircraft, all expense paid world travel, magic umbrellas etc. These charts shows the effects of low tax rates for the wealthy much better than any verbiage I might come up with:

Are CEOs that much better than they were then?

In the years around WW2 patriotism was still alive and well. Now greed is the only thing which motivates those at the top. The sad thing is that politicans are in bed with them because of all the hundreds of millions required to get re elected and one way or the other corporations and the wealthy are the source to fund campaigns.

Don't be a hater. Just because you don't have what it takes to become a CEO and make millions for yourself, don't begrudge those that can.

That's because they have lazy assed parents that's become dependent on the govt. to support them and their children.

When will you liberal pukes ever take responsibility for yourself and those you bring into this world?

:lmao:

So the only explanation you could come up with was "low tax rates" so you just jump ahead and assume that's the reason? You may want to Google the definition of the logical fallacy called, "begging the question."

Here's a more interesting question. Why is what private companies pay their CEO's any of your f'ing business?

I haven't seen a revolt from the OWS pukes. But I have seen a high rate of crime come from their camps.

Are you equating crime with revolution?

No, no matter how much you want class warfare, and how much democrats pretend to want class warfare when in front of a podium, it will have no impact on capitalism.

Not the point. We do not live in a Socialist/Communist State. Class Warfare/Class Envy doesn't cut it here. Instead of whining about this, you should just become a Corporate Executive yourself. That's how it works here. But if you're not cut out to be an Exec, than so be it. Not everyone can be Corporate Executive. Some have to be plumbers instead. That's just the way it is. So quit your whining, get an education, and then get a job. You are not entitled to anything. Grow up and get over it.

So the OP is against the freedom to negotiate and obtain whatever compensation you can for your skill and ability to do whatever job.. whether it be a common skill (burger flipper) or a difficult limited skill (CEO, engineer, etc)

The funny thing is Campbell has far more assets than the average american, but yet he still whines about this kind of stuff.

Those he considers rich should give him more, but of course he shouldn't have to give more to those who would consider him rich.
