The reality- the line was crossed with Impeachment when Nixon was forced to resign. It got worse when they impeached Clinton over a blow job.

I wholeheartedly disagree. I believe we are experiencing a golden age of television. Series today have production values equivalent to the best movies and are given the time required to develop a story and it's characters. Try to imaged 'Game of Thrones' as a three-hour movie.

Even smaller budget shows like 'The Good Place', which is a comedy designed to educated us on moral philosophy, is ground-breaking in its own way.

There is a lot of crap on TV today, no doubt. But, the best of TV today is much better than the laugh-tracked, formulaic, simplistic shows of the past decades.

This is still America, and if the channel's Big Brass want a sophisticated urbane audience to view their programs instead of Christians and small town folks in Flyover Country, that is definitely their choice.

Their statement to Christians is "tough shit, if you don't like it there are plenty of other programs out there you can watch instead. Try Fox, try Pat Robertson or John Hagee"

Other entertainment acts have done this, like the Dixie Chicks. Getting rid of undesirable viewers is the first step.

My wife was a Hallmark viewer. She loved to watch those silly chick flick shows. She also has the money to buy the products that are advertised. She is probably the target market for most of the commercials.

She was pissed when she saw the queer commercial.

She was glad when Hallmark said they would pull the commercial.

Now she is back to being pissed because the idiots at Hallmark decided to go full SJW.

One commercial is not the entirety of Hallmark's programming. The movies are as sappy as ever. It is Zola advertising a preference for same sex couples. Hallmark isn't taking such a stand yet. They have a few all black movies which I don't bother with. I'm not the target audience for those.
