Half of US guns are owned by 3% of the public

These are the gun owners who horde guns and ammunition to feel "safe"

No chance one might have different firearms for different purposes?

No way a guy could have several shotguns for different types of waterfoul and upland game. No way he might have two or three rifles just for hunting varmints at different distances. Impossible a hunter might also have a few deer and hog rifles as well, for different types of terrain. And there's just no way that same guy might enjoy the extended hunting season that a black powder rifle offers. Could that same guy have a .22 for small game? No way, he's just a hoarder! Of course, it's impossible that same guy might have target-only firearms or participate in marksmanship competitions, some of which utilize three different firearms in one tournament. And good lord, there is no way he could participate in more than one type of competitor, each which utilizes different purpose-built firearms. No way! If that guy also happened to inherit several firearms from his grandfather, that he treasures as heirlooms, well, that would probably make him a racist...somehow. Could he also have one or two firearms for self defense in his home, and maybe a pistol he uses for conceal carry? Of course not, couldn't be. And lastly, there is absolutely no way that same household might have have a wife with a self defense firearm, because as we all know, gun control is about giving a 120lb woman the right to fistfight a 250lb rapist. That's only fair.

No, all of that is impossible! The only reason someone has more than one firearm is because he's a paranoid gun nut and a hoarder. Clearly.

Well, I see no reason why anyone should have more than one car. It makes no sense that someone might want a four wheel drive for bad weather and going off road, another more fuel efficient car for commuting to work, and yet other family truckster for hauling the wife and kids.

No, those multi car owners are nothing more than paranoid hoarders too.

Logic fails the collectivist meddler once again..

Thanks

Confirming the claim that a large percentage of guns are in a small percentage of the population

While there are an estimated 55 million American gun owners, most own an average of just three firearms, and nearly half own just one or two, according to the survey results.

Then there are America’s gun super-owners – an estimated 7.7 million Americans who own between eight and 140 guns.

Why do you think an on line survey is accurate?

There is no way to know if any of the respondents actually own a gun.
For all you know some pimply faced teenager said he owned 500 Ar 15s

Yes.....because gun owners are know liars

No it's because it's none of your fucking business how many guns anyone owns

Of course it is

We have from 260-330 million guns in this country. It is proper to try to draw conclusions about our high gun ownership.
One conclusion might be that every American owns a gun...we know that is an incorrect conclusion because many people on numerous gun while others have none

This survey is an attempt to quantify that number

Other independent surveys show about 22% of families have a gun in the household. That supports the theory that there is gun hording going on

Just because you want to know something does not mean you have a right to know it.

and what makes you think that 22% number is accurate? As I said people will say they don't own guns when they do and people will say they do own guns when they don't

Gun inequality: US study charts rise of hardcore super owners

Americans own an estimated 265m guns, more than one gun for every American adult, according to the most definitive portrait of US gun ownership in two decades. But the new survey estimates that 133m of these guns are concentrated in the hands of just 3% of American adults – a group of super-owners who have amassed an average of 17 guns each.

And, of course, the obvious question is, who cares?

That you completely missed the point is not surprising. You claimed the only reason one might have multiple firearms is because they're paranoid and a hoarder. I destroyed that lame argument. Deal with it loser.

That is because 1% of the wealth is owned by most of the liberal elites who have to have armed guards to protect them. Funny how that works.

What a ridiculous claim

Yes, billionaires have bodyguards. For example, Warren Buffett has a security detail that protects him:
Just like what Trump said about HRC, she wants the peon US citizen to give up their guns, but she is a liberal elite so is much better than you and I , therefore must have an army of fully automatic weapons at her disposal.

Yeah an on line survey of people stupid enough to opt in to a junk mail survey mailing list

And you think it's accurate?

I wouldn't be surprised if the survey was in fact accurate. Especially with all the goofball gun nuts they have around these days.

Even years before everybody went gun crazy I kept a few guns around. A shotgun for bird season. A high powered rifle for big game. A 22 rifle for target shooting, and a hand gun I strapped on while bird hunting.
I guess you could say that every gun I owned back than had a purpose. And that purpose was for hunting. Not killing people.

OK

So you were one gun owner with 4 guns

You do realize that Trumps complaint about Hillary's Secret Service protection does not help his cause

Secret Service is composed of firearms in the hands of highly trained and certified agents.

Is Trump proposing the same standard for the general public?

Now I am not a liberal, nor an elite, but I do have a collection of firearms, that most have never been shot. Since 2008 most of the weapons have increased in value almost 50% of the purchase price. For 8 years , the return on the investment is better than the stock market.

No, they are not hoarding guns to feel safe, and if you knew any of the 3% you would know that. I happen to know several people who own more than 30 guns. They are hunters, collectors, gun enthusiast. When they buy a new gun safety is not at all considered. Nice try on the liberal spin, but you are dead wrong. I assume you will also say that I threatened you with right wing dog speak because I said "dead wrong". You people are so predictable.

Super-owners? Is that like Hillary's super-predators? How many of those super-owners are involved in crimes compared to Hillary's super-predators?

"But there was essentially no disparity in gun ownership based on income level for Americans who make between $25,000 and more than $100,000 a year. Americans who made less than $25,000 a year were less likely to own guns."

3% own half the guns while 22%, according to the link, own the rest. Interesting.

This is also interesting. Thanks Obama!
71% increase in guns since 1994. Why? Because Democrats keep wanting to ban them?

So?

Doesn't invalidate the survey........try again
in America, we do know that 30% are die hard liberals and will do whatever the liberal elites tell them to do. So most of them don't own guns, but will rely on the government to save them. Now the rest of the US citizens have a brain and know that if the liberals take away the 2nd amendment and disarm US, then the liberal by the force of the government will do like any other socialist country and this is to get rid of our rights and take over the country. This is why Obama , and all the rest of the retarded liberal elites talk about disarming US, yet the pushback is so intense the liberal back off. But Obama still has 3months left, and has at the UN, announced plans to get the constitution denounced and a Global Unification to replace it. At that time, all liberals will be declared ISIS sympathizers. Watch what you ask for liberals, because your not going to like it when the sleeping giant is awakened, as the Japanese found out.

I'm reading Freakonomics right now... and contrary to what the nutters say, there is zero correlation between more guns and less crime.

yet they keep repeating the same lie.
