Guy jumps overboard off of Oasis of the seas......

Some people can handle their booze and others just lose their ship.

Shocking Video Shows Man Going Overboard on Cruise Ship

There is a Video and it isn't pretty. He probably got sucked into the props, unsure why they didn't stop the boat.

You must think stopping a cruise ship is like stopping a car...........:cuckoo:.
takes seconds to stop the props and just as much to put them in reverse.

but hey, lets nit pick and claim someone else is dumb when we don't know a fucking thing about large ships.

Throwing props into reverse and it takes miles to stop a cruise ship. If you drop the anchors the mass with rip them and whatever they're attached to right off the ship.

You're not only a ship captain, but, next, you'll be telling us you're a train engineer. Propellors stopped or not, poor schlub would have been keel-hauled by the time the ship stopped.

I'll repeat;

you can stop the props in seconds

yes, the ship will coast, but not for miles, not even close, it will drift with the current in short time

Stopping the props doesn't stop the ship. Go google it. It takes a couple miles.

good lord, I think I have not been clear enough, sorry, having been in the Navy and practiced 'man overboard', I actually know things people don't.

MAN OVERBOARD
second later the props stod
and
a hard to port or starboard is called (same side as the over board)
this pulls the ship and props away and brings the ship broadside to the swimmer.

in a few yards, the ship stops, even carriers

It takes at least a mile to stop an ocean liner/aircraft carrier (an' that's a conservative estimate, per Google). How soon was the captain notified that poor drunken schlub was overboard? Add that time to at least the time it takes to stop within a mile. Granted, it is less than a freight train, but it is a reasonable guess that poor drunken schlub was semi-keel hauled before being ground into snausages.
