Gun Control question for liberals?

Like what?

I was an 'Integrated Avionics Instrumentation/Flight Controls System Specialist on the F-16, and there was only one school harder than that in the Air Force and that was Missiles, and those schools are no longer than a couple months. The new Missile and Space Systems Maintenance course in the Air Force is only 70 days, and it's the hardest school there is.

I know of no military training that takes a year in any branch.

Linguists require up to a year or more of training.

Point is we don’t disagree on the concept just the length. That said, I’d like to see more of the population having some skin in the game too. You want federal aid for college....fine do a 2-4 year stint in the military or some other public service first.

To add insult to injury, some kid goes to college that I end up paying for. He becomes a lawyer. Now when I need legal services, he charges me $500.00 an hour because he's a lawyer thanks to all that tax money I worked for.

Under the new system, you would also have benefited by that same paid education, you would also be charging him to flip his burgers and get his fries. What's your point here, buckie?

The point here is an advanced education is an investment, just like stocks, commodities, CD's, real estate or any other business.

The taxpayers should not be in charge of funding investments for other people. If you want to make that investment, do it with your own money. After all, you're the one that's going to get that money back.

So, only the Rich and Chosen should have those Privileges, right? Most of the rest of the free world disagrees with you and the US slowly slips towards a 3rd world country in education. Make sense to me now that you have splained it to me, Lucy.
No. But only the smart should go to college. The world needs tradesmen.

Those who can't afford it, can get loans, or Acadamia can lower their fucking prices.

Correct. In my industry, we are short over 30,000 drivers, and that number is expected to grow as we baby boomers retire. Depending on what kind of work you get involved with, you can make 6 figures a year, and the training to become a tractor-trailer driver is only a month or so; some schools even less.

Money is not the problem with obtaining a job or a career, drugs are. Younger people than myself prefer to live with their parents until they die or they are into their 40's before getting off of dope and being forced to do something with their life.

My sister and her ex are far from rich, and both my niece and nephew are college graduates. They took out a lot of loans, and are still repaying them. If you don't have that kind of ambition, you can always learn a trade which is much cheaper, puts you in the workforce much quicker, but requires you to do physical labor.

If you want what the rest of the world wants, you need to live in the rest of the world. Here in the US, if you want something of value, you need to provide it for yourself.

Yet there was a time when higher education was affordable for the average person. If a guy handled his money right, he could get through college on just the G.I. bill and maybe part time working here and there. I'm talking mid '60s to 70's. Even in California where even back then it was expensive to live.

That is correct. But how many kids went to college in the 60's or 70's? I would say out of an average classroom of 35 kids, maybe 7 went to college???

Today most kids are going to college because the days of doing monkey jobs for great money are long gone. That created a supply and demand problem. Not only do we have more people in this country, we also have a higher percentage of kids going to college.

So now what would happen to the prices if we sent even more kids to college because government is paying for it?

I have over 50. Most of my buddies have that many or more. I have one friend that has (no exaggeration) close to a 1,000 firearms.

I also have tens of thousands of rounds of ammo and hundreds of high capacity magazines.

However, I am no goddamn Liberal.

None of mine need this "ammo" thing.

I have a couple of staple guns, one of which is YUGE for big jobs;
I have a caulking gun for filling in gaps;
I have a soldering gun for electrical work.

There could be either another caulking gun or another staple gun. So its maybe four, maybe five.

You know, constructive stuff. None of them used to kill people.
That's how I roll.

But I'm reconsidering.....
--- you think I should get a glue gun?

None of my guns have ever killed anybody. Just shot holes in paper and provided security for my family and the free state. Very constructive.

Somebody could have written down a cure for cancer on that paper.

You killed it.

Your "security" fantasy is STILL derived from the THREAT of killing. Isn't it.

My staple guns tack nothing up by threatening to punch a staple. My caulking gun fills no cracks by threatening to. My soldering gun solidifies no electrical connections by threatening to.

Everything has its function. The difference is, I don't have to lie about what my tools' functions are.

Our Founding Fathers weren't fantasizing when they said that the right to keep and bear arms was necessary for the security of a free state. I shit you not. It is right there in the Constitution. Go look it up.

Of course you stupid Moon Bats are just as ignorant of the Constitution as you are of Economics, History, Ethics, Climate Science and Biology.

By the way, sometimes those piece of paper I shot holes in were pictures of that worthless Neggra Obama, Crooked Hillary and Slick Willy. Certainly no cure for cancer.

Yyyyyeah um, I have no need to "look it up". I called out the OP's misuse of the term "Liberals" as soon as Jimmy Olsen's watch called me here. And I noted that we wrote that Amendment.

So kiss my ass with that COTUSier-than-thou shit.

You are so stupid you don't even know the difference between Liberal and Libertarian. Our Founding Fathers were all Libertarians. Much closer to Ron Paul than AOC.

My older son has a couple of degrees and has a good job as Finance Director with a large corporation. However, his younger brother has a degree but it is not required in his job. He makes twice the money in his non degree required job.

Eugene Stoner was a great engineer and never had a degree.

Wrong. "Libertarian" wasn't even a word yet. Liberalism is what founded this country and wrote its Constitution. Including the Second Amendment.

Lot of guys used the G.I. Bill later on after doing their time in the military. I did for a couple years. Can't do it now I don't believe since cost is too high. Plenty of hi tech jobs requiring higher education and more in the future. Unfortunately, so many companies bring in H2b's etc. Really, who's worse for America. Companies bringing in cheap hi tech labor, or illegals sneaking in here? Especially since our own president had no problems hiring illegals to save a few bucks.

You are confused Moon Bat, as usual.

The Founding Fathers were hard core Libertarians. Not fucking Communist shits like you who call yourselves Liberals or Progressives or Democratic Socialist or whatever the fuck..

You call yourselves what best describes your greed to use the government to steal what you are unable or unwilling to provide for yourselves.

Our Founding Fathers wouldn't even want worthless assholes like you to be able to vote.

Once AGAIN --- "Libertarian" wasn't even a word until the 19th century when this Liberal-founded country was well under way.

>> Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty, consent of the governed, and equality before the law.[1][2][3] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but they generally support limited government, individual rights (including civil rights and human rights), capitalism (free markets), democracy, secularism, gender equality, racial equality, internationalism, freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] Yellow is the political colour most commonly associated with liberalism.[11][12]

Liberalism became a distinct movement in the Age of Enlightenment, when it became popular among Western philosophers and economists. Liberalism sought to replace the norms of hereditary privilege, state religion, absolute monarchy, the divine right of kingsand traditional conservatism with representative democracy and the rule of law. Liberals also ended mercantilist policies, royal monopolies and other barriers to trade, instead promoting free markets.[13] Philosopher John Locke is often credited with founding liberalism as a distinct tradition, based on the social contract, arguing that each man has a natural right to life, liberty and property and governments must not violate these rights[14].

... Leaders in the Glorious Revolution of 1688,[16] the American Revolution of 1776 and the French Revolution of 1789 used liberal philosophy to justify the armed overthrow of royal tyranny. Liberalism started to spread rapidly especially after the French Revolution.

... Before 1920, the main ideological opponent of classical liberalism was conservatism, but liberalism then faced major ideological challenges from new opponents: fascism and communism. However, during the 20th century liberal ideas also spread even further—especially in Western Europe—as liberal democracies found themselves on the winning side in both world wars.[19] << --- Wikipedia, the super-secret encyclopedia open only to the chosen few who possess the super-secret decoder ring, anathema to the Cult of Ignorance

For that matter, the terms "Communism", "Democratic Socialism" and "Progressivism" hadn't yet been invented either.

So you see Flush, Liberalism threw off the chains of Aristocracy and Clergy running the joint, and put the People in the driver's seat. That's what the Bill of Rights is all about -- the People.

It would appear you're the 'confused' one here. You and the OP.
