Gun Control question for liberals?

Cars have been confiscated if they are not registered or the registration expired.
They have? Pulled out of peoples' garages and stuff?
No, if you get caught driving them.
Well, sure - if caught driving them on the road.
They will however tow your car off of your property if the car doesn't have current plates.
On what grounds, and in what state? You don't need to register that's not driven on public property.

Again, here in Ohio, you get a new registration when you get your stickers through mail. And yes, if a vehicle is in plain view of an officer, and does not have plates or current tags, they will tow it off the property. This happened to a friend of mine, and I also read our police blotter all the time. They have reported towing unlicensed vehicles off of private property because of no plate or stickers.

In CA you have to register a road vehicle no matter driven or not. If not, it must be registered then as INOP. Oh, and by the way, some jurisdictions have Plate Readers that drive around hunting for victims. Some agencies have their own, other's contract it out. If your plate throw's up a flag it then get's reported to DMV, which can identify whether you are in arrears whether it be non-payment to DMV, child support, stolen, etc. If you have any issues, I don't suggest leaving your vehicle anywhere in sight of Big Brother. CA reg is a fucking racket.

The tenure among most Liberals is that they don’t like private citizens owning guns. Yet, if you had your way and everyone turned over their guns, that would leave police and criminals having guns. Liberals are also the first to attack the police. How is it you are okay with police having guns and how would you get guns from criminals?
I am a liberal and I own four guns. WTF are you talking about?

Nothing towards the absolute. Clearly, you are exceptional.

Excuse me for jumping in, but that is so condescending yet my liberal friends (and I) have as many guns as the other guys. Right wing does NOT have a lock on who owns what. But that seems to be your train of thought. Not commonality.

The original post was an opinion based on perception. Tell me, how many conservatives talk of taking guns?

That is the way it used to be, where Republicans were the ones proposing gun control.
For example, the earliest gun control was an attempt to keep Blacks, immigrants, and labor organizers from being able to defend themselves.
Back in the 1970s, liberals were helping Blacks get guns to prevent lynchings and assassinations.
The 1986 federal gun control act banned the production of new machine guns for civilians, signed by Bush Sr.

Democrats did not jump on the gun control bandwagon until the Clintons, with the 1994 Assault Weapons ban.
And Clinton really was more of a Yellow Dog Democrat since Arkansas is the south.

Many. A lot. Matter's how you phrase "taking." Whether it's worry about taking or actually taking, which the latter hasn't happened and doubt it will. The word should be "getting" and that will probably happen, as in some not for sale in the future.

Ah. California. That explains it. I understand they also plan to tax the air you breathe.

Well, that would require people to serve and die in bullshit regime-change wars against their will. Mandatory school training is much less intrusive.

.
Awesome hyperbole.
Making someone get training is nowhere in the same ballpark as forcing them to devote a year of their lives in involuntary servitude that may result in their death in armed conflict, hyperbole or not.

.
A mandatory year of military service would have several beneficial results, one of which would be fire arms training. One other, undoing some of the leftist indoctrination and giving them a crash course on how to be an adult instead of a perpetually offended little hyper sensitive democrat cry baby.

I spent 8 years in the AF and I'm not dead.

Some career fields require up to a year in training (not to mention getting mission qualified at the unit level).
Like what?

I was an 'Integrated Avionics Instrumentation/Flight Controls System Specialist on the F-16, and there was only one school harder than that in the Air Force and that was Missiles, and those schools are no longer than a couple months. The new Missile and Space Systems Maintenance course in the Air Force is only 70 days, and it's the hardest school there is.

I know of no military training that takes a year in any branch.

Linguists require up to a year or more of training.

Point is we don’t disagree on the concept just the length. That said, I’d like to see more of the population having some skin in the game too. You want federal aid for college....fine do a 2-4 year stint in the military or some other public service first.

To add insult to injury, some kid goes to college that I end up paying for. He becomes a lawyer. Now when I need legal services, he charges me $500.00 an hour because he's a lawyer thanks to all that tax money I worked for.

the problem is they keep confusing liberal and leftist,,,,

I'm a classic liberal on most issues, and it would take me an hour to just find all my guns to count them,,,

this labeling people you dont even know causes a lot of misconceptions and failed opinions,,,

Fair enough. Yet you people equally confuse labels by aligning GOPer with a Conservative and ignore the fact that many GOPers are Liberal.

I agree fully. Looks like a strawman to me.

OP has experience with strawmen. He hired several for post number one of this thread.
