Not a good day to be a European. This will get ugly.
I honestly believe that the Greek people believe that the IMF/European countries will end up giving them the money with no strings attached to get them by a couple more years.
And they might.

damn right they might. Greece pulls out of Euro and defaults, they won't be any worse off than they are now, and the Euro would be generally screwed.

The real problem, since the Euro is not issued by a central government, it only has value as long as everyone goes along with the deal. The Greeks are yelling "The emperor has no clothes".

I think everyone knew that the Euro would eventually fail.
Only way it could succeed was if every member acted as one economically. This is Europe, that was never going to happen.

socialism only works until the other guy runs out of money...or like the Germans, gets fed up with being soaked..

despite their 'no' vote the Greeks are going to face 'austerity' either way...the piper must be paid...

Perhaps Greece was just a growing pain for the Euro. Now they know to be careful about to whom they lend. As long as it does not spread to Spain and Italy Europe will come out of this far stronger.
