A dad who faced jail for protesting about his daughter's rape by a transgender student at a Virginia high school has been pardoned by Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Scott Smith was given a 10-day suspended sentence for disorderly conduct after he was dragged out of a school board meeting for protesting about the Stone Bright High School student, who went on to attack another girl.

'We righted a wrong,' Youngkin said on Sunday. 'He should've never been prosecuted here. This was a dad standing up for his daughter.'

'His daughter had been sexually assaulted in the bathroom of a school, and no one was doing anything about it.

'This was a gross miscarriage of justice.'

Youngkin's decision comes after strong backlash on the case that included the Loudoun County Superintendent losing his job and the George Soros-backed District Attorney being yanked from the case.

Youngkin said school had 'covered it up' and told Fox that parents must have the final say over their children's education.

'Mr Smith did what any father would do, what any parent would do, which is stand up for their child,' Youngkin told Fox News Sunday.

'I spoke with Mr Smith on Friday, and I had the privilege of telling Mr. Smith that I will pardon him, and we did that on Friday.'

The school board didn't take the first rape seriously because of the previous consenual relationship with his victim. So they covered up the fact that he was charged with rape and just put him in another school, thinking that if his ex wasn't there, he wouldn't get into trouble. They took the attitude that he was innocent until proven guilty. After all, you have to protect the boys always.

Here's the thing. Until the police made an arrest, and filed a prosecution, the ONLY option the school had was to transfer him to another school. The school WRONGLY believed the first incident was due to these two teens' dysfunctional relationship. Separate the kids and solve the problem.

Reality, less than 1% of rapists ever find themselves in a jail cell.

The problem wasn't that this rape was okay, it was that it wasn't what the right-wing portrayed it as - a Transgender student taking advantage of a bathroom policy to commit rape.

The reality - this was a couple of teens in a dysfunctional relationship, and the school handled it badly. Probably. We don't know all the details because juveniles were involved and a lot of the records remain sealed.

And the right is happy to take advantage of a bad situation to promote their irrational hate. 1 in five girls are sexually assaulted by the time they reach 18, mostly by other teenage boys. No, I Put it in the proper context that the boy was NOT Transgender, and she had an ongoing sexual relationship with him that she tried to break off, and there was no coverup. The boy was transferred to another school to keep the incident from happening again while the police investigated.

The relationship was not consensual. The boy was transferred to another school where he again wore a skirt and raped and forcibly sodomized another girl. The boy in question is in a lockdown facility for mentally disturbed criminals. No consensual sex, no teen age fight. He's still locked up. He can't even be brought to trial.
