You all say "fuck off" (literally) to cops, firemen, teachers. You pretend to hold a moral high ground, and despite demanding less govt, will then demand laws to ban many things. Included are:

- Banning marijuana
- Banning gay marriage
- Banning abortion
- Banning poker and gambling (although they'll have state-sponsored lottery, go figure)
- Banning pornography

I could go on and on.

But GOP'ers, who is gonna enforce all your moral laws? The cops? You all have spent 2 years slashing their funding, staffing, pay, benefits, equipment. They are already stretched to the limit.

Will you enlist the military to help the understaffed cops to enforce your laws? OH NO, that would be martial law, and suggesting that makes you an Obama loving commie.

So, how can you preach about less taxes, less spending, smaller government......while also suggesting moral laws taht ban things like mentioned above? Especially since 4 out of those 5 (abortion excluded) causes no physical harm to anyone. Why would you freedom loving, small govt loving Republicans want laws that ban harmless things like weed, porn, poker and gay marriage?

The answer to all of the questions above is federalism. Let the states decide what they want to allow, and let them figure out how to enforce it. If you shrink the federal government and lower federal taxes, it would allow the states to figure out how to finance whatever laws they want to apply. The added benefit is that if people didint like what was going on in a given state, they could vote with thier feet, and get the hell out.

First, here's a one at a time synopsis:

- Banning marijuana...........

That's a state issue based on recommendations from combined police and highway patrol records. They probably consult hospital ERs in the individual states and make their decisions based on what the available data and statistics are per region.

- Banning gay marriage.......

That's up to the people of the United States per state law. We will uphold the people's laws unless the people push for a national codification.

- Banning abortion..............

Again, that is also up to the people of the individual sovereign states, and as well, the court ruling, Roe v. Wade.

- Banning poker and gambling ....

States and Tribal grounds' decisions to the best of my knowledge (and I'm soooo not a lawyer)

- Banning pornography...............

I think that's against individual state laws and becomes federal only when it crosses state lines unless a local municipality calls the FBI or Homeland Security for help. That may have legal exceptions. Again, I'm not a lawyer and updated legal cases have their impact sometimes.

Like Democrats, we are guided by rules of law with strict attention to the First Amendment. Didn't you know that?
