GOP wars: Rand Paul: GOP like bad pizza crust

You preoccupy yourself with the man and not the message. I see Takeastepback not refuting anything and hurling insults.

And you're merely looking at one exchange with no further context. When it comes to libertarians, Thanatos has never once tried a real discussion and has only ever mocked and insulted.

Context isnt needed on what you determine is someones character because once again...you are making it about the person and not about the message. Read the Avatar...Its just a lame excuse to not engage someone

And what Am I suppose to be engaging Corky over here, CC? Do you even know WTF you are asking me to "refute" in this context?

:lmao:

Good fucking god some of you are stupid.

We're getting off topic, but I'll simply say that context, in the form of past discussions, colors how we respond to everybody on this board on an individual level. Nobody treats every single poster as a blank slate in every single thread, and nor should we.

Demographics alone says that the conservative social agenda will destroy their popularity, the RW christian bigots are aging fast. You get just a few more years to somehow convince the millinials that republicans do not hate them.

Bullshit dodge excuse.

I can treat anyone anyway and when asked why simply say "this one time they pissed me off" and thats good enough to slither out of a debate with anyone and thats what he's doing.

No answer so why not go to name calling and blame the victim of the name calling because you made him call names :D

So? You wanna take a look back and then tell me what I'm suppose to be refuting?

Rand Paul put a new spin on a familiar refrain that the Republican Party needs to broaden its base. He compared the GOP's need for change to a recent Domino's Pizza's campaign to improve the taste of its crust.

The Kentucky senator and potential 2016 presidential candidate told a packed crowd of students at the University of California at Berkeley on Wednesday that "the Republican Party needs to either evolve, adapt or die."

This isn't going over too well with the neo confederate wing of the party or the teahadists

Rand Paul: GOP like bad pizza crust ? CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

Actually - being a neo-confederate himself - that is exactly the crowd he is playing to imho.

It isn't the Tea Party or the Neo-Confederates that Paul is trashing. It's the more moderate wing of the GOP.

You're point is what?

I'll dumb it down, just for you.

Civil war (or more likely, uncivil war), the first salvo in the next iteration of the Republican primary campaign. Remember 2008 and 2012? Recall how many wanted to be the Republican nominee?

[Rudy (a noun, a verb and 9-11); Mr. Pizza man, 999; Michelle Bachman, Fred (the Actor) Thompson; Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, The Newt, Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback, Tom Tancredo, Tommy Thompson and of course Mitt Romney and John McCain.]

Recall how they attacked each other, and each tried to kiss the ass of the far right fringe to the point of absurdity? I can't wait for the new 'reality' show'; sadly the GOP understands who will be candidates for the new iteration of those who want to be POTUS and have cut way down the debates; less chance for these characters to embarrass the party and convince moderate Americans of this truth - the once GOP is no longer grand, it is a regional party which appeals only to the most extreme members of our society.

This seems to be one of the few things Rand will consistently say to all audiences, and he is right. The GOP does need to adapt, not that I'm of the ridiculous opinion that they're in danger of becoming "extinct" any time soon, but adaptation is still in their best electoral interests.

I agree. The Republican Party is a brand. They have spent more than 150 years building that brand name. They are not about to piss it away.

Even young "millennials" will turn conservative when they get sick of being mired in socialist red-tape and abject poverty (the smart ones, that is).

Really, you're serious? What brand is the Republican Party?

A. Neo Conservative

B. Social Conservative

C. Fiscal Conservative

D. Rural

E. Urban

F. Single Issue (Gun, God, Gays)

G. RINO

H. Only A & E

I. Only B & D

J. Sadistic

K. Masochistic

L. Only J & K (seems the most likely)

Only if republicans totally revamp their social agenda, not much chance of that. By the time they finally accept that good economics and a real concern for working people will beat moralizing and hollow patriotism in the long run it will be too late. Democrats face their own challenges but not being so tradition bound they are much more willing to adapt to changing times.

You're right! Sadly the gop is a party that doesn't believe in modern civilization....The people they appeal too hate government and want the wild west back! These people believe in the mid 19th century and believe the constitution is designed only for that.

How fucking nuts.

I pray the gop will accept a platform of common sense, investment in ones country and efficacy.

Otherwise we're fucked down a river!

What exactly makes him a fraud? Oh'yess, he doesn't want to defund the nws, epa, fda and go back into the cave.

There's a big difference between efficacy and national idiocy like you tea partiers promote!
