Oklahoma Republican Tom Cole is Out of Touch with the GOP Rand-and-File
Following McCarthy’s ouster as Speaker, Oklahoma Congressman, Republican Tom Cole, told The Atlantic that hardliners might "very easily" cost the GOP its House majority.
Cole, having served in the House since 2003 has shown he is out of touch with the changes within his Grand Old Party over the past seven years. His statement, “‘The overwhelming majority of my party supports the speaker that we elected. We're proud of the leadership he's shown,’” demonstrates his severe lack of familiarity with the trump-led GOP.
Rep Cole is so behind-the-times in understanding the preferences of today’s Republican voters, he has yet to realize Rep. Matt Gaetz’s scandal of sex-trafficking of a 17-year-old girl actually increases his popularity with the GOP’s base nationwide. Electing Gaetz Speaker of the House to replace Kevin McCarthy would have the Republicans’ rank-and-file dancing in the streets.
“Old” Tom needs to step into the reality of trump’s Republican Party or, sit down and shut up.

A GOP congressman says conservative hardliners who helped oust Kevin McCarthy as speaker could 'very easily' cause the party to lose its House majority in 2024
"We put sharp knives in the hands of children, and they used them," Cole told The Atlantic of GOP lawmakers who backed McCarthy's removal as speaker.
