A major part of his bio: Happily married to is wife? Does a paryy that loves Newt Gingrich really want this on the GOP website? Is this to draw a contrast between many leading Republican sthrough the years and it's new Chairman?

---

This man was on Face The Nation this morning and all I could think was 'Did the GOP look forward into the past to select Howdy Doody as it's chairman?'

good gawd, the GOP website gets rid of white space and uses a gray background with this profile photo of McDoofus:

this man takes the place of Michael Steele (McGoofy) who replaced John McCain as leader of the GOP?

Senator John McCain was on Meet The Press this morning. The old McCain is back. He spoke truth to power. What a waste that McCain had to run to the right to win the GOP primary in 2008. It was a pathetic sight to see. Now we have Romney, another good man, running to the right to win the GOP nomination. What a waste.

McCain lost because he had to appeal to the Right Wing Lunacy that rules GOP primaries. Now Romney (most likely) will go down that road. And with Romney going right wing nutty, the GOP has Howdy Doody running the party.

GOP 2012: Looking Forward into the Past.

Senator John McCain was on Meet The Press this morning. The old McCain is back.

Indeed.

And he admonished fellow republicans to get off the contraception/pornography nonsense and focus on jobs and the economy.

It was in essence a cry in the wilderness.

Poor McCain, he will never recover his old cloak of maverick after that last race. The man can be very appealing as a candidate, when not seeking to conform to Right Wing Lunacy.

He was never the same after the 2000 primaries Night of the Long Knives in SC.

No matter what he tries, he keeps getting screwed by the radical right.

I think he recovered after 2000. I believe he tasted power so bad, he went over to the dark side for a bit in 2007/2008. But McCain is a tough old bird. He made it back. :eusa_angel:

He's still a dick, advocating endless occupation of Afghanistan. His reasoning? "We've had troops in Japan, Germany, and Korea for forty years, so why not Afghanistan?"

Yeah, because Afghan society is just like the civilized world.

he advocates keeping troops there, not an occupation - as we do in Japan, Germany, and Korea

And you think Afghans perceive a difference?

Looks like you're the non-thinker.

a base with advisors and others is much different than a base with a combat mission or occupation - nation building. we are not occupying Japan, Germany, and Korea, though we did once occupy Japan and Germany.

And, again, the main distinction that is eluding you is the fact that Japan, Germany, and Korea do not currently view us as occupiers. They also do not view us as infidels. They also do not view us as Crusaders.

Our troops are still meeting Afghans who are ignorant of the events of September 11. You think these people will ever NOT see us as occupiers? They don't want us in their country, just as we wouldn't want another country setting up permanent bases in Kansas, New York, and Texas.

The Japanese most certainly viewed us as Barbarians when we entered their lands. Not all Afghans view westerners as evil. - (just for the record) = Afghans are not Arabs, they are Muslims.

We are in Afghanistan with the permission of the duly elected government. We are there legally. When combat duties cease, we will leave troops behind. That is how it works. your hysteria needs rejuvenating. go suck on camel dung

Sez who? Karzai controls a small part of the country. He has no authority to make deals on behalf of the country, unless that authority comes from the barrel of a U.S. soldier's gun.

And then we're back to occupation, and being their policemen.

Get this through your head:

Afghans do not want a government. They barely want a country.

You want to talk about Pasty Priebus? He's a disaster. They were better off with former clown Michael Steele.

They are, however, still living with the effects of Steele's chairmanship: he was the one who changed things this election to proportional delegates, rather than winner take all. So Steele is screwing over the people who fired him as we speak!

The republicans had to court this tea party low information voter to win elections.

Reagan started it.

it has now run its course and they cant win without the clowns.

They have to cheat and court dummies to win.

It their own fault.

Karzai's authority is recognized by the world. Time to come out from under your rock. The trailer park is safe.

note: I actually love trailer parks
