GOP lawmakers call for autopsy on disastrous midterm performance

There aren't historic losses. Mid term losses are normal. Compared to other years these were mild. What does need to be looked into is the massive democrat socialist fraud that won these seats.

The midterm House losses can be attributed to one individual - Speaker Ryan. He had the money and the organization to help GOP candidates and he sat idly by with his hands in his pockets as the Dims went all out.

Democrats gained 40 seats in the House, and the Republicans increased their majority by 2 seats in Senate. How does this compare with previous midterm elections where one party controlled the White House and both chambers of Congress going into the elections? Let's see:

In the 2010 midterm elections, the Republicans gained 63 seats in the House and 6 seats in the Senate. In the 1994 midterm elections, the Republicans gained 54 seats in the House and 8 seats in the Senate. In the 1982 midterm elections, the Democrats gained 27 seats in the House and 1 seat in the Senate. In the 1952 midterm elections, the Democrats gained 18 seats in the House and 2 seats in the Senate.

So the Democrats' gains in the House on Tuesday are toward the upper end of the scale but are by no means historic. The Republicans' achievement of adding 2 seats to their majority is a rare achievement for the party in power in midterm elections. Thus, both sides have reasons to be happy about the results.
