... well, good news for those who WANT good news, that is.

Worker compensation rising at fastest pace since 2008, ECI finds

Wages are the last piece of the puzzle. Without wages (compensation, actually, wages plus benefits) increasing 3.0% or more, the market may give up and go drama queen for a while. 2.7% is very, very nice to see.

Hopefully this trajectory continues.

Odd turn of phrase -- "worker compensation" usually doesn't refer to wages even if that's technically what it is. :dunno:

I pointed that out.

You're happy to see this, right?

I'm happy to see you think you pointed this out but you forgot.

"Worker compensation" traditionally means disability payments for injuries on the job. That's why I say it's an odd use of the phrase.

As for wages increasing, haven't seen it yet. But I'll certainly see if I can push it.

Obama did such a great job, he can raise wages several years out of office.

No doubt. That naturally follows since he used that magic time machine button on his teleprompter to cause the '08 recession retroactively thereby giving himself the election. Apparently it has a 'future' setting too.

The person that wrote the article used that terminology . But it is referring to wages and benefits-

What happened: Wages — some 70% of employment costs — jumped 0.9% in the first quarter. Benefits rose 0.7%

The ECI reflects how much companies, governments and nonprofit institutions pay employees in wages and benefits.

Big picture: Various measures of worker compensation all show the same thing: Wages and benefits are rising as the pool of available labor shrinks.

With unemployment at a 17-year low of 4.1% and layoffs at a 48-year bottom, companies have taken a variety of steps to recruit new workers. Better pay and benefits are a big part of the answer.

Damn, who'da thunk it?

So Democrats are in effect trying to LOWER working class wages by bringing in more illegal black market labor?

Wow, just wow! :)

I laid it out just fine for anyone who isn't trying to ignore or downplay hopeful news.

The first line on my post sure nailed it.

This sure does get silly. And obvious.

Thank you Obama for starting us the right path, if only Trump can sustain it , which I doubt.

Yet another vivid example of my point about the hypocrisy of hardcore partisan ideologues.

Do you not know how obvious this is?
.

Take a look at the unemployment graft since 2010, steady decline.
I guess your answer to my question is "no".

Which is what I suspected.

You made no reference to it, other than quoting the headline verbatim. I made the observation, now here you come trying to take credit for it.

Maybe I should just copyright it next time.

Correct. That's what I observed in the first place.

What I said was, "...Without wages (compensation, actually, wages plus benefits) increasing 3.0% or more..."

But you've illustrated the first line of my OP, for which I thank you.

Yyyyeah about that sigline image ---

-- you know that this "honored tradition" goes back less than a decade and that it was pushed in there by a Pentagon pimping fake patriotism, at taxpayer expense, right?

So much for "honor". :eusa_hand: The two (Republican) Senators who exposed that scandal agree with me.

Damn, whoda thunk it.
