"God" is a tyrant.

Have you seen our police, and courts? And you need to ask that question?!?! Yeah. Yeah he is.
You have pretty strange beliefs for someone who is supposed to have a PhD in psychiatry.

Happiness and Virtue
Ya know what/ I don't have to defend my degree to a guy that knows how to look shit up online. Go spend 8 years studying psychiatry, and learn all of the different theories of decision making, behaviour, and counselling, then come talk to me. Who the hell do you think you are???
So you are telling me that psychiatrists teach that behaviors don't matter? Really?
No. I'm telling you that many psychiatrists, myself included, are more interested in how a behaviour makes a patient feel about themselves, than whether it is socially acceptable.
You do realize that I am exposing you for a fraud, right?
No, actually you're exposing yourself as an idiot, who knows nothing about psychology, but is really good with Google.

Great. Can you show me any scientific papers which show where you discourage people to be virtuous because those behaviors don't matter?
Nope. Cause I never said that I discourage people from being virtuous. Those are your words, not mine.
You did say that all behaviors lead to equal outcomes, right?

You are the supposed expert on human behaviors who said that behaviors don't matter.

Example.
Bob: I kissed another guy yesterday.

Me: How did that make you feel, Bob?

Bob: Bad.

Me: Why is that, Bob?

Bob: Because I know my dad is going to get angry.

Me: Well, Bob, does your dad get to make your decisions for you?

Bob: Well, no.

Me: Are you responsible for your dad's actions, and decisions?

Bob: No.

Me: So, your dad's anger isn't really important, then is it, Bob? So, how did it make you feel?

Bob: I like him...

See, there? I get beyond the "socially acceptable crap", and get to how a behaviour affects the patient.
Try substituting that with addiction to porn. I'd like to see that one, ok?
Again, and idiot who knows notnhing about psychology.
Addiction to porn. What do you think the key word there is. And I'll give you a hint; it isn't porn.

Did I say that anyone should not be virtuous?

Feel free to substitute whatever word you want. Show me how sex addition or addiction to porn is a successful behavior.

Here let me try using your behaviors don't matter technique.

Bob: I jacked off 10 times yesterday.

You: How did that make you feel, Bob?

Bob: Good.

You: Why is that, Bob?

Bob: Because I liked it.

You: Well, Bob, what else did you do?

Bob: Nothing.

You: I don't see a problem, behaviors don't matter?

Bob: Cool.

You: That'll be $300?

Bob: Do you take EBT cards...

You: Sure, same time next week?

No. I'm telling you that many psychiatrists, myself included, are more interested in how a behaviour makes a patient feel about themselves, than whether it is socially acceptable.
So as long as they feel good about themselves, it is ok to do anything?
I'm not going to dignify that with a response, because the very question displays your complete lack of understanding of the field.

Still showing your complete ignorance I see. Sex addiction. What is the key word there,; Like I said, it isn't sex. Come on. I know you can do it...

Why does it matter? All behaviors lead to equal outcomes, right?[/QUOTED]
I accept your concession.

Nope. Cause I never said that I discourage people from being virtuous. Those are your words, not mine.

Did I say that anyone should not be virtuous?
You said all behaviors lead to equal outcome. They don't. You know it too.

I can't get you to admit that all behaviors don't lead to equal outcomes, why the hell would I expect you to be honest about anything?
You can't get me to agree that outcomes depend on morality, there is a difference. Behaviours affect one's personal perspective. It is my job to heal that. I could care less about moral judgements. I'll leave that to the moralists like yourself.

Now, do all behaviours always result in the same outcomes? No. But here's the thing. The exact same behaviour from two different people may well result in two different outcomes. Like that friend I told you about? If I had pulled that stunt, I would have been lucky if I pulled a 100 on my SAT.

I always used to tell my friends, I have never been to a prostitute; not because I think that prostitution is immoral, but because if I went with three of my buddies, Joe would get a prostitute, Mike would get a prostitute, Frank would get a prostitute, and, with my luck, I'd get the undercover cop. Same exact behaviours. Very different outcomes.

Great. Can you show me any scientific papers which show where you discourage people to be virtuous because those behaviors don't matter?

As soon as you acknowledge that not all behaviors lead to equal outcomes I will prove it does.

and that's as convincing as yours, the specific behaviors all having the same outcomes ... being honest.

Nope. Not going to agree to your preconceived notion of how the world works. Sorry.

Now, do all behaviours always result in the same outcomes? No. But here's the thing. The exact same behaviour from two different people may well result in two different outcomes.
We aren't talking about the exact same behavior though. That's my point. We are talking about diametrically opposed behaviors. According to you they would produce equal results. Of course that is an idiotic statement. We know that not all behaviors produce equal outcomes.
