Finally a GOP candidate says it. Of course Newt Gingrich will probably be called bombastic for saying it but it needed to be stated.
FAST & FURIOUS:
Question:
Why on earth would the ATF--under the direction of the U.S. Justice Department- lead by Eric Holder AG of the United States--let walk 2000 semi-automatic weapons into the hands of violent Mexican Drug Cartels?
a. To help the Mexican police and miltia fight the Mexican drug cartels?
b. To track these weapons even though they had no tracking device in them?
c. To set precedence in the United States for tighter gun control--and the banning of semi-automatic weapons?
Finally Newt Gingrich says it:

There can simply be no other rational explanation for Fast and Furious. What Eric Holder didn't count on was a US border patrol agent getting killed by one of these weapons and 3 very brave ATF agents outing his justice department on this program. Unfortunately there are still 1400 weapons out there--and only God knows how many people these guns have killed.

Eric Holder and the Fast and Furious program have become a frequent target for GOP candidates and Newt Gingrich hasn’t shied away from criticizing the attorney general.
During a telephone town hall Thursday night, Gingrich was asked by an Iowa voter about what he thinks of Holder and the program.
Gingrich replied that the program to track guns through Mexico was a “trap” that was meant to catch Americans, not Mexican cartel members.
He said they tried “to create a false trail that would allow them to move to some tightening up of gun control.”
When the caller started railing on Holder for playing the “race card,” Gingrich agreed.
"They can't argue the facts,” Gingrich said. “All they have left is to try to play the race card."
