The White House and their Democratic allies must realize that they are on a trajectory to lose the Senate in 2014 and are likely coming to terms with the idea that delaying the individual mandate is one way to attempt to change that path. Look for the president to bite the bullet and give in to the vulnerable Democrats, consultants, pundits and other credible handwringers who are telling the president they must try anything and everything to alter the course of the elections. Otherwise, the last two years of the president’s time in office will be spent either vetoing or signing into law Republican legislation, and only conservative-approved nominees will be confirmed for any federal post by a Republican Senate.

Obamacare is a terminal political cancer for incumbent Senate Democrats, including senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) and Mark Begich (D-Ala.Alaska). Senators Mark Udall (D-Colo.) and Mark Warner (D-Va.) are showing early stage symptoms as well. Combine those races with the open seats in West Virginia, South Dakota, Iowa and Michigan and it’s obvious the Democrats are struggling.

Obamacare is not getting any more popular and neither is the president. It’s obvious that the incremental moves the White House has made to try and temper voters’ anger isn’t working.

The Insiders: Get ready for the Obamacare ?Big Punt?

I agree, it is ironic that the first black president in the history of the United States will end up a joke in the footnote of history because of his "signature" achievement.

Well Obama has already punted 39 times. He again, has usurped his constitutional authority--and now for people who are receiving cancellations notices in the mail--he is stating "if their states" allow it they can keep their "liked" policies until 2017. A few months ago--he gave them a year pardon--"if their states allowed it."

So basically Obama has punted the ball clear in to year 2017--making certain he's not President then.

I don't think this constant fumbling of the ball is going to do Democrats much good in the mid-terms this year. EVERYONE knows someone who has received letters of cancellations on their liked policies--and Obama has won the "Lie of the year award." Americans do not like to be lied too, and when you do it over 40 times (Obama and democrats)--they're going to pay for it.

If everyone had simply followed my lead and voted for someone else (anyone else) in 2008 then we wouldn't be in this mess but nobody ever listens to me. :eusa_silenced:

Yeah ... we knew he would screw things up. A junior Senator with zero leadership experience -- good idea -- NOT.

Hopefully all of those "hand-wringers" who voted for him out of white guilt have shaken off their ignorant stupor; have quit smoking ganga; and have recovered to some level of normalcy. I guess we'll see in 2016. :eusa_shifty:

The problem is, the GOP is just too stupid to make use of this.

They passed this bill without a single GOP vote. Why? Because the GOP knew it was crap.

They have now had to illicitly alter the law 39+ times. Why? Because the law is crap, and THEY know it.

They have illicitly altered this law all of these times for one purpose and one purpose only. So that they can keep power and their jobs. NOT because they care about the people.

But the GOP is too stupid to go on the offense with these facts.

Obama and the Dems will do whatever they can to protect the Democrats for the election.
Then they will blame the reason for ObamaCare failing....

On the Republicans.

It would be more wise for the GOP to start trash-talking Obamacare closer to election time so that the arguments will be fresh in the minds of the voters. People have short memories. If the GOP starts in on Obamacare too soon then the voters will be tired (bored) of hearing about it by that time. Timing is everything when dealing with a forgetful public.
