Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp dismisses GOP calls for special session to impeach DA Fani Willis

Kemp is bought or blackmailed so is Raffensperger
I don't necessarily think Kemp is bought or blackmailed. I think he's probably just part of the GOP establishment. Trump is mostly a populist, whereas the GOP establishment is neocon. Kemp would appear to be much like Bush was.

In short, Trump more accurately represents most of the GOP base, but the GOP establishment is a lot like the Democratic establishment on matters of foreign policy and trade. Trump went against the grain on both of those policy areas, which is part of why the establishment hates him.

What they don't tell you in this thread is that Kemp knew they could never get the votes to do it that way so he basically

told them what a moot point it was to try to get a 2/3 majority.

Now they can do the same thing with a small committee, and that's going forward full steam ahead.

It's good to see that some Republicans haven't gone batshit crazy.

And guess what, MAGA? They're winners!

Unlike all the crazy losers you support.

Get a clue, MAGA loons.
When Georgia becomes the voice of reason, you know we're in a heap of trouble.

Wiser heads have prevailed, thanks goodness.

The so-called "party of law and order" no longer cares about either.

You do realize they were talking about a special session, don't you? It can still be done in a regular session.

And Governor Kemp refused to call a "Special Session", but the intent of that "Special Session" was Unconstitutional on its face.

The Judicial Branch is a Co-Equal Branch of Government, and is NOT subservant to the Executive or the Legislative Branch.

The "Special Session" was being called to remove Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis. Governor Kemp knew the session's intent was Unconstitutional and he stood his ground.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem? The legislature doesn't need Kemp to do this. All they needed from him was to have a special session to expedite it but a special session is not necessary.

Do you have the basic understanding of the Constitutional Co-Equal Branches of Government.

The Legislative Branch cannot use it power the attack a Co-Equal Branch of Government. Kemp as Governor knew that calling such a session, whose intention was to investigate ONE DISTRICT ATTORNEY simply because she is prosecuting P01135809. Such an act is and of itself Unconstitutional. Only the Governor can call a "Special Session" and Kemp knew that purpose behind the session was Unconstitutional.

There is not Constitutionally Compelling reason for such a "Special Session,", only Governor Kemp can call such a session and Kemp knew the grounds for session was Unconstitution and under Georgia such session would a prosecutable offense, its called Hindering Prosecution.

Judge Denies Kenneth Chesebro's Request To Sever Charges From Sidney Powell.

A state judge denied Kenneth Chesebro’s attempt to sever his charges in the Georgia election interference case from fellow Trump-aligned attorney Sidney Powell, saying he didn’t deem it necessary to do so to achieve a fair trial.

But Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee did signal Wednesday that he has deep doubts about District Attorney Fani Willis’s (D) broader desire to try all 19 co-defendants, including former President Trump, together.

Both Chesebro and Powell sought to separate themselves from the sweeping case – and from each other – as they filed motions for a speedy trial, which likely enables them to begin that process this fall.

Chesebro’s trial was already set to begin Oct. 23, with his attorneys at Wednesday’s hearing urging the judge to keep Powell’s trial separate, despite her similar motion for rapidity, but McAfee expressed his doubts.

Of course he is, it's inconceivable that any republican could honestly be against tRump's massive and obvious criminality.

Guy must have been bribed.
Not bribed of anything like that, but just an ace kissing politician is what he is, otherwise he's got his thumb up checking the prevailing political winds, so he feels more secure supporting the woke mob than standing up for conservative principles and values. Done seen this movie a million times over.

Power hungriness can corrupt the most well intentioned person until they join the elites. Look at that dumb ace AOC. Perfect example.

That is a perfect analysis and assessment of the entire situation... Thanks
