But perhaps that will change now that trump has switched to 'straight-up Nazi talk'. Feeding the conservatives’ collective hatred for most other groups in the U.S. has been the goal of the GOP’s Southern Strategy since it was pioneered by Kevin Phillips in the 1960s.
If trump returns to his 2015-16 playbook of pure hate and drops this persecution shtick he’s pursued for the past three year, he will be in the position to lose the popular vote for a record third time, but win the archaic and absurd Electoral College system this nation refuses to scrap. With that victory, the fourth Reich will be born, to the joy of nearly all right-wingers.
