Right. America is so damn backward, that most of Europe today still hasn't caught up with where were were two centuries ago, as far as recognizing basic human rights, such as freedom of speech and freedom of thought.

France is the same country which has, five times, convicted Brigitte Bardot (yes, the famous actress/model/dancer from the 1960s) of criminal charges, for expressing legitimate concerns about the role of Muslim immigrants in damaging the French culture.
