    No surprise.
When your main industry is stealing from the entire country, from those who have to actually produce then you have no risk.
No surprise that the two most affluent predominantly black counties are situated right next door to daddy government, too.

High-level government employees - often married to one another - and highly-paid government consultants (usually military or civilian retirees), as well as contractors.

What a witch's brew of worthlessness!

All paid for by the American taxpayer.

...and to think in the 1950s and 1960s, Detroit lead the nation in per capita income.

If you reduce the payroll bloat there will be that much more tax money to fund government projects and programs. Hell you could probably fund bases on Mars by getting rid of 5% of the fat in the government.

Prince George's and Charles though Charles may not be mostly black on paper -- yet.
    Source; I live here.

Howard County, MD is "D.C. area" to people who don't live in the D.C. area and to people in Howard County. who don't want to refer to themselves as Baltimore area or rural dwellers. Loudoun County, VA is pretty much the same, getting a "honorary" DC area "pass" because it contains Dulles Airport. A West Coast correlate (given the size of the places) is thinking of Santa Barbara as being in the Los Angeles area.

It's worth noting that the main reason D.C. area counties are relatively well off is because, on the whole, most people in those counties have relatively decent jobs and because five of the top six most highly educated counties in the U.S. are also in the D.C. area. Believe it or not, people with advanced degrees earn more than people without advanced degrees. The consequence of that is that income inequality is less pronounced than it is in other parts of the country.

FWIW, I'm not disagreeing with your claim. Just asking for corroboration of it because the claim isn't supported by any of the content in the article you cited in your OP. (I live in Kalorama and grew up in Spring Valley, so I know you are correct about PG being the wealthiest predominantly black county in the U.S.)
