At least 5 people died and nearly 500 000 homes were left without power after severe thunderstorms swept through the US Northeast on May 15, 2018. And it is not over! Now, the eastern US is at risk until the end of the week! Two people died in Connecticut, including a Danbury man who was killed

That's a lot of people but never stock up on food because going without power for days just never happens in the US.

We're the super power and those preppers are just crazy for stocking up for those just in case days..

Stocking up wouldn't have done much good for the 5 people who died, considering they were all struck by trees.

I didn't see anything about people unable to get food or water.

There's nothing wrong with getting or having supplies in case of utility outages. :dunno:

Well some people are smart enough to have water on hand, how soon people forget back in 2003 the entire east coast had a power outage for a few days, a few of the hurricanes have caused power to be out for weeks......

Yeah never mind having water on hand...........

What is hilarious, a lot of Connecticut towns have snow plows that cost MILLIONS per season to plow snow when 99% of the time a front wheel drive car can get through without the sand and salt. Yet they do not use those plows to clear fallen trees on the roads after unusual storms. Bizarre.
