WASHINGTON - First lady Michelle Obama came face-to-face with the sometimes uncomfortable repercussions of her husband's immigration-enforcement policies Wednesday when a second-grader voiced her worries that her mother might be deported.

It happened as Mrs. Obama toured a Washington, D.C.-area elementary school with Margarita Zavala, the first lady of Mexico, two hours before President Obama renewed his call for comprehensive immigration reform. At one point, Mrs. Obama took questions from a dozen second-grade students, who sat in a small circle on the gymnasium floor.

"My mom said … Barack Obama is going to take away everybody that doesn't have papers," one young girl told the first lady.

"Yeah, well, that's something that we have to work on, right?" Mrs. Obama replied. "To make sure that people can be here with the right kind of papers, right? That's exactly right."

The girl countered, "But my mom doesn't have any."

"Well we have to work on that, we have to fix that and everybody's got to work together in Congress to make sure that happens. That's right," Mrs. Obama said before moving on to the next question.

Well, she said her mom doesn't 'have papers'. So she's illegal.... I say they should go and arrest her and deport her ass. The First Lady should not be seen to be supporting criminals.

Easy solution. Make it the law that babies of illegals are no longer automatically given citizenship and get rid of this anchor baby shit! If you cant have an anchor baby you can send them both home.

She is a liar by omission. She should have told the little girl, who was from a school that was 60% Hispanic, that we have laws against entering this country illegally and the punishment is deportation. Period. And if her mother is illegal, she had better remain in the shadows.

At least her mother was truthful.

Or... the kid can stay, but the parents go home. If they can find someone here to take their child, and they want to leave it behind, then we should welcome the child as a US Citizen, and not punish the child for the crimes of the parents.... but.... either way, the parent(s) go home.

Naw I wouldn't be so cold as to separating the mother from the child. The child can go home to what ever the country the mother is deported to. Of course the child is more then welcome to come back when ever it wants to.
