The Constitution states that the President is our Commander in Chief, not a lieutenant colonel who can't be trusted with the key to the executive rest room
wtfudge are you talking about? Got any proof or are you just giving your and trump's OPINION?

Actually, President Trump's opinion is paramount here. If he doesn't trust the Vindman Brothers, why would he trust the "advice" they give as "advisors"?

I'm guessing Trump never heard the Bible verse ...

Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord!

or he thinks he is the Lord? :dunno:

He's not "taking vengeance" at all over Vindman. Just moving him somewhere where he can actually be useful, hopefully.

Advisors you can't confide in because of their Loose Lips are useless. Vindman is a notorious leaker.

Thank God we have Republican Party that does that. Just stopped a coup attempt against our constitutionally, democratically, elected executive branch.
he was not democratically elected, it was by electoral college....and impeachment is a constitutional process given solely to the House, and is not a coup.

Amen

Donald Trump has demonstrated that the GOP Senators who said that the impeachment would cause Donald Trump to temper his actions were dead wrong as Trump conducts a massacre of government officials who testified in the impeachment investigations.

What law did he break, Chuckles?
since Vindman worked with the IC, maybe this one?

Presidential Policy Directive – 19 (PPD-19), Protecting Whistleblowers with Access to Classified Information, also provides protections for IC employees against personnel actions taken in reprisal for lawfully participating in the whistleblowing process. In addition, employees and contractors are protected from reprisals in the security clearance adjudication process. PPD-19 requires that the agency inspector general review whistleblower reprisal allegations in violation of PPD-19. Further, PPD-19 allows employees and contractors to seek an external review from the ICIG of their reprisal allegations once they have exhausted their own agency’s review process.
The whistlegossip had no need to know what Vindman told him....Vindman blatantly violated military laws and protocols regarding privileged information.....He deserves a court martial and dishonorable discharge.

A president has the right to a national security team he trusts. A president also has the responsibility to put the best interests of the nation before his own.

Firing Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman on Friday, Trump acted as is his right but abandoned his responsibility.

To be sure, Vindman has become an inherently partisan figure. The moment the Army officer raised concerns about the propriety of a July White House meeting on Ukraine and later a July phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he risked entering an inherently political space. That became inevitable once the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives launched impeachment proceedings.

Still, there is little evidence that Vindman acted outside the established reporting procedures in raising his concerns, and Vindman's service record as an Army officer suggests that he is first and foremost a patriot. We pay our military officers to make very tough calls in the nation's best interest. Vindman believed, credibly, that he was doing so.

For that reason, he was due more respect from his commander in chief than that which he received on Friday.

Team Trump sees things differently, of course, but Trump's supporters should remember that the president is not a king. ...

I've been waiting for Trump to shoot someone. Any idea who will be the lucky person?

Jared Kushner? For not being Tom Brady.

he fired Vindman's twin brother who had nothing to do with Vindman's testimony and fired his million dollar donor, Sondland as well... for testifying.

the President, might have once again, broken the law on retaliation.....???

Dimms should definitely hold another impeachment trial based on this.

yes, very true....but it is THE ONLY election in the Nation that is not a democratically elected position.... senators, congressmen, governors, state legislators and state senators and sheriffs and even dog catchers if elected are done through a democratic voting process of one man, one vote.... they win by the popular vote....

President Trump really didn't "fire" anyone. He just reassigned the soldiers to a different duty station
yep, the two brothers were reassigned, but it was still retaliation....

Libs can certainly pursue a Constitutional Amendment on this, but I don't see it going anywhere particularly now.

Rightly or wrongly (we'll never really know for sure), people see the Electoral College as what saved America from the malaise and war of another Clinton Regime. I can't see the 38 states going for it now.

I don't see it as "retaliation" at all, because they brothers were as useless as tits on a bull in the WH. They couldn't be told anything or trusted with anything, because they were openly opposing their bosses' foreign policy.
