Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need

In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. The reason: The country applies the “Housing First” concept. Those affected by homelessness receive a small apartment and counselling – without any preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected thus make their way back into a stable life. And: All this is cheaper than accepting homelessness.

I understand there are similar schemes in parts of the US. Our government does nothing to help the homeless because they are soulless tory bastards.

meanwhile, the small city next to me has approx 600 homeless, whom sporadically end up at shelters and soup kitchens , some end up wards of the state

I can recall one job, renovating an outsourced manufacturing facility ,next to a shelter,where i had a number of them ask for work. Construction being the mecca for God's special children sugared off to something akin to the star wars bar scene at that particular site.

Now that same 'got grants & funds' site ,which went on to essentially be a socialist failure , is up for more 'grants & funds' to morph it into elderly housing....designed in various stages of care.

Point? The rich live , the poor die ....unless the bloody do gooders find a way to s*ck a tax $$$ outta the general populace to grease their machinations

anyways, that's the mentality....

Most people homeless in America are because of democrat policies, you don’t see any homeless is republican run towns, we solved it

The Finns reckon that doing this saves money. Saves police and hospital time, cuts down on theft and so on. Helsinki in December is fucking freezing as well.

Stuff like this has to be a national scheme. Its not something that works when done locally.
