Sounds to me like she was just trying to get out of jury duty. We see a lot of that. Most of the ones I have seen will say, "I could never believe a police officer" or, "If the defendant was arrested, he must be guilty," stuff like that. I am convinced that most of it is bogus - merely designed to get them out of jury service.
