Fareed Zakaria: The Republican Party Is A 'Platform To Support The Ego Of One Man And His Family'

Zakaria is just saying out loud what many of us have known would happen for the last two years. The Democracy is at it's greatest moment of peril. Republicans see the writing on the wall regarding the demographics of national election and they soon won't have the numbers to win anymore. They have already shown they don't care what drumpf says or does, they are weak enablers of a sick human being.

This was my favorite part. I don't usually see him, but this Sunday my schedule was off.

"The media must cover the administration's policies fairly but it also must never let the public forget that many of the attitudes and actions of this president are gross violations of the customs and practices of the modern American system," Zakaria insisted. "They are aberrations and they cannot become the new norms. That way, after Trump, the country will not start the next presidency with tattered standards and sunken expectations."

Who gets to decide what these "gross violations" are? oh right, the same idiots that kept asking Obama "Thank you sir, may I have another" for 8 freaking years.

The media is once again trying to escape it's own shadow.
Well, since Trump's "gross violations" of the customs and practices of the modern American system are pretty clear, apparently to you they aren't gross or violations of anything important. To me they are. A lot of our respect in the world rests upon being credible. Trump is a joke in that category. He lies and exaggerates and tells wild stories like there's no tomorrow. No one can begin to believe him anymore. He breaks diplomatic tradition by praising some of the worst abusers of human rights in the world. He even invites a few of them to visit the WH! He asks for loyalty oaths from the Director of the FBI. He ignores information from his intelligence agencies about Russian interference in the election and about his National Security Adviser, saying it was "not an emergency." If WaPo hadn't broken the story, Flynn would still be there, a ripe source for blackmail. He jokes about grabbing women by the pussy but can't get his own wife to move to the White House, costing us an enormous amount of additional $ for security. He holds security meetings in the Mar a Lago dining room surrounded by club members. He flies to Florida to golf most weekends, again without any thought to the cost to taxpayers

CNN host Fareed Zakaria lamented on Sunday that the U.S. Congress could no longer be considered a check on the power of President Donald Trump because the controlling party had become a platform that caters to the whims of the president and his family.

"Donald Trump in much of his rhetoric and many of his actions poses a danger to American democracy," Zakaria explained. "American democracy has a series of checks intended to prevent the accumulation and abuse of power by any one person or group."

"But there is one gaping hole in the system: the president," he continued. "The president in effect sits above the law. The Justice Department works for him."

According to the CNN host, Congress' power of impeachment is the only "real check" on the president.

"Since Trump's own party controls both chambers of Congress, there has been little resistance to him there," he noted. "It appears the Republican Party is losing any resemblance to a traditional western political party. Instead, turning into something more commonly found in the developing world: a platform to support the ego, appetites and interests of one man and his family."

A hack expresses his personal opinion and you eat it up as factual news.

This is the level of stupidity of this board on both sides.

No one thinks it was factual news.

Former CIA Director General Michael Hayden compared our lack of check and balances to Nicaragua on the same program.
"With three high profile firings in quick succession, it's beginning to feel a little bit like Nicaragua around here. A very pro-American European friend weighed in with me by email shortly after the White House announcement: “Astonishing. Your institutions appear to be in meltdown.”"

A Muslim on a fake news site. They should just shut the network down.

Is that because CNN doesn't goose-step to Trump?
So next your going to claim the Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson aren't bias, therefore, Fox News isn't "fake news".
=============================================
Fake news, or hoax news, refers to false information or propaganda published under the guise of being authentic news. Fake news websites and channels push their fake news content in an attempt to mislead consumers of the content and spread misinformation via social networks and word-of-mouth.

One of the more colorful definitions of fake news comes from PolitiFact: "Fake news is made-up stuff, masterfully manipulated to look like credible journalistic reports that are easily spread online to large audiences willing to believe the fictions and spread the word."

Be specific and include money that actually went to an American institution and not to one of Bill's "Foundations".

Gates Copied, Stole and Sued his way to fame and fortune.
Ever notice how MS has NEVER produced a product it didn't STEAL?

Was the CNN anchor in a freaking coma when "Hope and Change" happened and the Hussein administration had control of both houses of congress? Maybe Mr. Zakaria ain't got clue about the U.S. Constitution.

The Republican Party Is A 'Platform To Support The Ego Of One Man And His Family'

That would be a pretty good description of the democrats over the past 8 years, except it was a platform to not only support the ego of one man, but to support his crimes as well.

So you would rather be manipulated and fucked with by a smooth talker like Obama than helped by a crass idiot like Trump?

People are mad and they don't care he is a crass jackass.
