Thorn's work for the American Free Press is perhaps not so widely known because that newspaper was classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

I don't know about the validity of the claims but the Southern Poverty Law Center declaring who's the hate group is hilarious for you to bring up. They are a far left activist group, hate is disagreement with them. Traditional religious organizations find themselves on their hate list.
