I was pretty excited when the new issue of Family Handyman arrived in the mail.

This was the cover...

I had just built a workshed but I need another outbuilding already...and many times the articles in FH come with plans and cut-lists.

Not this time.

In fact...nowhere in the several page article was even a mention of the floorplan dimensions. From the pictures it appears to be eight wide and 12 long.

Here's the staggering kicker...

No that surprising. A friend decided that she wanted to have a stick built out building instead of getting one of those modular jobbies like on the side of the road. The guy who does all her carpentry told her to buy the modular jobbie because it would be a lot cheaper. Think she paid around $10K but that was several years ago.

Yeah...for ease of purchase and cost, those prefabs are the way to go.
