Fact check: Public schools still teach the Declaration of Independence, contrary to claim

I am still a British subject in many ways as our system hasn't evolved as intended (and all Canadians were before 1947).

Considering Canada in fact had Brtish subject status in this country until 1947, I find your post vexatious. My understanding is enough to possibly be more informed than many Americans and the vast majority of Canadians. Bottom line, you left for the New Country and fought the Brtish empire, with assistance from their nemesis France: thid allowed you to achieve your Independence. You get into granular details to confuse the issue and try and belittle me? How noble.
My family (direct line) goes back to colonial America in the 1600s. My family was on all sides of the rebellion (1776). My direct line were Loyalists and ended up on the first ship (Hope) out of NY to Canada. My family helped establish New Brunswick, Canada.

I've done quite a bit of research on colonial America, before I even knew my whole family history here. My interest in it merged with my genealogy interests. So, I've done quite the bit of research into the subject.

I did not ry to belittle you as a person, but when you get in my sights attempting to pass of bullshit as facts, I tend to call your opinions what they are. Sorry if your feelings are so easily damaged.

isn’t Canada still a Commonwealth State with a King in England??
I like this: A constitutional monarchy is a democratic government that consists of a constitution and a monarch who functions as a non-party political head of state within the limits set by the constitution, written or unwritten

The claim: Public schools don't teach the Declaration of Independence

I would imagine at some point most public schools do include reference to the Declaration of Independence somewhere in the mandatory curriculum. But working with middle school and high school students, a very frightening number have no idea who wrote it, why it was written, what it was hoped to accomplish or can give even a simple summary of its contents.

Some are teaching it within the context of critical race theory, others as a statement that every citizen is intended to be equal in every way, i.e. the Marxist/socialist concept.

So within those facts I would rate the claim the OP is disputing as 'partly false/partly true.'

I bet if you poll high school kids today they wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the Declaration, the Anthem and the Constitution. The question is whether schools really teach the meaning of the Declaration of Independence or do they merely acknowledge and/or criticize it and move on.

really? that’s not self evident ?
Pelosi had let presidents and vice presidents choose the portion of the Constitution they wanted to read. Many were wary of reading the section on the rules for impeachment or foreign emoluments. Trump had selected the opening of Article II, the part of the Constitution that addresses a president’s election and the scope of his or her power. It would normally have been the perfect selection for a president—but was an ironic one for Trump, who had spoken of his desire to exercise his executive power as much as possible, including by threatening Congress and challenging the judiciary.

With LED lights on stilts in front of him, Trump took his seat. “You’re lucky you got the easy part,” Pelosi told him cheerfully. “It gets complicated after this.” But the president stumbled, trying to get out the words in the arcane, stilted form the founding fathers had written. Trump grew irritated. “It’s very hard to do because of the language here,” Trump told the crew. “It’s very hard to get through that whole thing without a stumble.” He added, “It’s like a different language, right?” The cameraman tried to calm Trump, telling him it was no big deal, to take a moment and start over. Trump tried again, but again remarked, “It’s like a foreign language.”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. And she's getting roasted on Twitter for misattributing a quote to the Constitution.

The anti-abortion Tennessee Republican tweeted on Wednesday night, "The Constitution grants us rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — not abortions."

How many adults could do better?

Cool story….do globalist educators like Unkotare teach our children that with our Declaration Of Independence comes our right to sovereignty and an aggressively controlled/defended border….or do these globalists teach them that defended borderes are racist borders?
What good is a DOi without defending sovereignty? We are basically north Mexico.
