have a bad virus - was told F-10 can be used to restore the computer, follow instructions ...

on starting up, the virus prevents F-10 from working either pressing or holding down the key

is there another way to reach the Restore dialogue ?

The documentation that came with the computer should say how to restore your Operating System and what buttons to hold down upon restart to do that.

If you don't have any documentation that came with the Computer just "Google" your problem and I guarantee you someone has already had this problem and fixed it.

thanks and have been reading up on it - not so easy when the virus shuts down all the avenues - this one definitely does not want to be KILLED.
