Six in 10 New Jersey voters said Tuesday that President Obama had no effect on their vote in this off-year gubernatorial election, according to early CNN Exit Poll data.

Obama visited New Jersey this week to campaign for embattled Gov. Jon Corzine, who is locked in a tough re-election contest with Republican Chris Christie. When asked if Obama had an effect on their vote, 60 percent responded he was not a factor, 20 percent said their vote was meant to express opposition to him, and 19 percent said it was to support him.

People in NJ hated Corzine well before Obama came on as a presidential contender.

The fact that Christie allowed Corzine to come back is more of an indicator on how weak the republicans are

Wow, the crabwalking has started.
The Dums will explain away every GOP victory by saying it was just a local thing and Obama had nothing to do with it.
I hope they do.
Because when 2010 comes they will be completely blindsided by the avalanche, much like the GOP was in '06.

With the teabaggers turning on the republican moderates, republicans will concede winnable seats in order to run unelectable Conservatives. This election will be remembered for the teabaggers destroying what was once the Grand Old Party

Well, given that the RINO in NY had to drop out and the Conservative will probably win, it seems more likely to teach the GOP that conservatives win elections, RINOs lose elections.

Good....Obama has been relegated into obscurity in State elections....he should have kept his nose out of NJ's business anyway. We have bigger problems facing the nation as a whole than to have him going around supporting corruption and the status quo.

This is very true, Corzine should have lost by 80% he is so lame.

Christie was up by more than 20%. Until he opened his mouth. So if Corzine wins or Christie wins by a small amount, then that is simply pathetic.

:disagree:

No, it's more an indication of the level of distrust the voters have in a Liberally dominated state when it comes to Democrats these days.

:hmpf:

Imagine what this means for the rest of the country. California is on the verge of going GOP now.

Taking over GM and Chrysler was the first warning sign.

Face it...they overstepped and now they've stepped in shit.
