Once when walking in the woods which begin behind my house with my 100+ pound Lab, Duke, a seriously good hunter, Duke jumped a young fawn. Then to my surprise the fawn screamed in fear and desperation. The fawn's mother, a big doe, took after Duke and her fawn. The doe quickly caught them and without hesitation ran up behind Duke and rammed him in the ass with her nose. Duke spun to confront the doe. The fawn got away and the doe outran Duke. Once again a mother's love prevailed. That is the only time I ever heard a deer scream.
