I wonder if the EU really thinks those countries will care after we give them economic incentives to let us keep our camps?

One can only regret that YOU aren't a guest of some such facility. But then, they want intelligence, which clearly rules YOU out.

mentality, where the enemy were clearly identified by their swastikas or red dots.

In the struggle with Islamic fundamentalist terrorists (or any type, for that matter), Public Relations IS the war. Terrorists are not members of a standing army. They are people made so angry by what the believe to be true about us that they are willing to commit to armed struggle against us. Each time a revelation of unethical behavior comes out--Abu Ghraib, rendition, CIA prisons--we create more terrorists, instantly.

By contrast, when we do things like provide tsunami and earthquake relief, we immunize a group of people against terrorists--those who have direct memories of the U.S. helping them.

This war has been disastrous because it has dramatically lowered the Muslim world's estimation of the U.S. That, by definition, is losing the war against terrorism.

Wrong. You lack the understanding that its not our actions that create these terrorists. ITs their religion that does it. Their leaders lie to them and convince them that Islam's ultimate goal is to rid the world of "non-believers." Thus they recruit young minds and brainwash them into believing in this faith. Whether the US was around or not, these people would still be doing what they are doing.

You act like military prisons are a new thing. These are places where the enemy is held and questioned so that information that could save soldiers lives can be brought forth. No prisons means that we are just killing every suspected terrorist we come across and are gaining zero information.

Abu Gharib was a group of soldiers that were acting against protocols. They used their tactics not to generate information but to get their jollies instead. What is always failed to be recognized by the media and those on the left that want America to fail is that the US Military had already recognized the problem and punished those involved before the media ever knew what Abu Gharib was. Its the irresponsible reporting on part of the LMM that caused more people to die then there needed to be. Not that the terrorists needed a justification for their actions but they used the coverage of Abu Gharib that was blown out of proportion to launch a wave of beheadings on innocent civilians.

As for the dramatcially lowered expectation by muslims, ask the Iraqis what they think of America? I guarentee 80% are happy that we did what we did. Now instead of living their lives not knowing if the next day brings death for saying Saddam had a bad haircut, they have hope for the future of their children and their children's children to live in a free country.

The only reason there is a public relations war is because the leftwing-controlled mainstream media, not mention those pseudo-intellectual elitists such as yourself, have allied themselves to the enemies of the US for no moe reason than BS, politically-motivated hatred.

    Your post is perfect evidence.
