Adams announcing his initiative is here. He says food is third CO2 emitter, after buildings and transportation. He actually said he wants to ban Pizza in schools because it is unhealthy. He will have the city switch to default "plant based" options and limit meat and dairy, consistent with the Office of Climate & Environmental Justice's goal to “deliver New Yorkers a future free from the chronic threats of climate change”



He also blamed food for the mental heath crisis, which by extension, would imply crime.

He probably arrived in a motorcade of Suburbans to make the announcement.

Cracks me up that these politicians are not only tyrants, for which they are exceptionally well-qualified, but they are also nutritionists and scientists.

Politicians who can't even control crime now think they are qualified to control what people eat.

There is a positive aspect to this. Most of us already know that Dem politicians want to control most aspects of everyone's lives (what light bulbs they can buy, what vaccines they have to take to go to a gym, etc.), but when they start messing with people's food, it typically has negative consequences. Hasn't worked out well for previous regimes who do this.
