Watching news on Paris now and wanted to get on here to advise people not let themselves become angry. That's a normal reaction be sure, but it doesn't do you any good. And when we let ourselves become angry we stop thinking well. Terrorists would like nothing more than their latest terroristic act to result to local reprisals against Muslims by 'angry infidels.' That'd be a recruiting field day for them as they say "see this is Islam vs the infidels, they're attacking our brothers and sisters here!"
We can't do more than not do what they'd like us to. Don't become angry, don't rail against Islam because some psychopathic criminals are using it to rally support from some tiny fraction of Muslims. This has nothing to do with Islam beyond it's getting used by criminals to rally confused Muslims to their cause. This is no more an accurate depiction of Islam than an abortion clinic bomber is indicative of Christians.
Stay calm and think your feelings through.
"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate.
So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence,
adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
