Economically, Could Obama Be America's Best President?

Weren't all the conservative economists predicting inflation of 10%, caused by Obama's stimulus?

Whahappened???

And here it is, 4 years later, and inflation? What inflation?

Go cry wolf somewhere else. You don't support Dodd-Frank, or anything meaningful to rein in Wall Street.

I don't give a shit if an economist is conservative.

Will ever be able to think outside of your two dimensional ovine stable?

It's not rocket science why people are throwing their money into the stock market. There is no choice if looking for any kind of return.

You should be concerned because don't you think that the stock market is just like Vegas and that people should heave a safe place to put their money you know away from all those evil guys on Wall Street?
Then why aren't you so-called conservatives demanding that the House pass a jobs bill?

Didn't Boehner campaign for the 2010 Speakership by saying "Where are the jobs, Mr. President?"

Now he is in charge of all money spent in Washington.

Where are the jobs, Mr. Speaker?

Then why aren't you so-called conservatives demanding that the House pass a jobs bill?

Spending more borrowed money is just what we need to create jobs.
The first $6.1 trillion Obama borrowed and spent just weren't enough.

You continue to demonstrate your stupidity for all to see.

The problems in this economy aren't political. They were due to too many homes being built and the excess debt that accompanied the building which fed a bubble. After the bubble collapsed, what this economy needed was time to absorb the excesses created in the last decade. Household formation in this country is about 1.1-1.2 million a year. We were building 2 million homes a year, so we built too many. Then, housing starts collapsed to 300,000 a year, which allowed the excess inventory to be absorbed into the economy. This is process is nearly over and we are coming back into equilibrium. It would have happened regardless who was elected President. Everything else is on the margins.

And FTR, the heavy lifting to "save" the economy happened under the Bush administration, not under Obama.

In this case:

Heavy lifting = Socialism.

Isn't that what conservatives call it when government bails out a company instead of letting the market dictate winners and losers?

Or "socialism for the rich." Call it what you will. But the critical actions occurred before Obama was sworn into office.

We can legislate jobs into existence? I didn't know that.

Why don't we pass a bill decreeing that there was never any Financial Crisis while we're at it.

That Congress passing legislation to help create jobs and address the economic crisis conflicts with conservative fiscal dogma is a terrible reason for not doing it.

An equally terrible reason was the republican effort to ‘get rid of Obama’ and the right’s desire to ‘see Obama fail.’ What better way to undermine Obama’s reelection chances than to do nothing in the hope a continued poor economy would turn voters against the president.

Unemployment is down and home prices are up, the economy is improving regardless republican foot-dragging.

Conservatives can’t have it both ways: if they were prepared to blame Obama for poor economic conditions after the start of his presidency then they must also credit him for an improving economy as well.

No. No it isn't.

Unemployment is down not because people are finding work. People are leaving the labour force faster than jobs are being created. That's the only reason why the unemployment even seams to come down. Housing prices are going up not because the housing market is actually improving, but because the Federal Reserve is spending $85 billion a month in purchasing MBS for POMO. It has nothing to do with any underlying market fundamentals. The moment this stops, the housing market will tank and all which the jobs the economy did manage to create will be lost once again.

You're not creating an economy which can operate without stimulus. You're creating an economy totally dependent upon stimulus. The economy is practically on life support.

Conservatives can’t have it both ways: if they were prepared to blame Obama for poor economic conditions after the start of his presidency then they must also credit him for an improving economy as well.

In which way is the economy actually improving? Only if you have succumbed to a painful cabaret of low standards is the economy actually improving.

Imagine the impact on the Republican party if the economy keeps improving even after all the Republicans have done to put it on hold until they get back into office. Even Jeb Bush has indicated he's ready to complete the Bush job. Speaking of Jeb Bush wonder what happened to Neil Bush, wasn't he part of one of the economic scandals?

too completely stupid!! the free market is always fighting to work around liberal interference and still make the economy grow . Nobody can tell if and when the market can overcome all the ill effects from lunacy like the liberal housing bubble and Solyndra bubbles.

One thing we do know is that no liberal program can help capitalism, because liberalism is anti capitalist/anti business, the only issue is how much it can hurt capitalism.

Could Obama FLuffers be the most clueless people in the Universe?

yes, they think they help business when they hate business. How stupid is that?

Obama actually thought he could invest tax money in green energy companies better than venture capitalists could invest their own money in green energy companies.

Obama has the exact same brain power of his communist father and Karl Marx.

When there's improvement worth a shit then he may well get the credit...But for now, all he gets credit for is the most anemic "recovery" in more than 70 years.

If Obama starts a world war like FDR that ends this recession he will be an economic hero to liberals.

I don't know about Obama's father but Karl Marx has cost the world and the United States probably 10 times, or even 100 times more than the cost of Hitler, maybe more than Obama's father. Except for some religious figures I can't think of any single individual that has had the impact on the world more than Marx? His name is still used as a force in world and the American political arena.

They will definitely attempt to have it both ways.

You can bet that they will still be calling OMGhazi! a scandal during the mid-terms, even though they had their asses handed to them with the actual facts of the matter.
