Scientifically women could use the final stage of meiosis to fertilize each other and thus create a BOGO in reproduction. With a nearly 2 to 1 cost on a $250,000+ purchase advantage when the engineering "details" get worked out and the fact that both sexes more or less lose their higher brain functions when they see the word free is one part of the problem.
The other half of the problem is the only way to get a male body shape that screams wealthy enough to support an arbitrarily large number of wives is to live in a habitat in space where the male body can be shaped by up to 2.5 Gs. Such an artificial environment is insanely expensive and can only be used by the independently wealthy and those who work in space and therefore need high-G to prevent and reverse osteoporosis. Women or at least all female mammals so far tested are less tolerant of sustained high G than males (women are more tolerant of transient high G forces) and presumably low G as well but that is not as well tested.
An increasing supply of women and decreasing access to the most desirable men sounds like a great conflict to me. comments?
