As I pointed out....you were on here pretty much non-stop from 6:45AM EDT this morning.... Why should YOU care about what anyone else does or doesn't do on Easter...the resurrection of Jesus Christ clearly is of little to no importance in YOUR life.

why don't you at least confine your generalized whining about liberals to the issues that matter to you?

The next logical step is Valentines day. That cursed holiday alienates millions of single people every year.
Its a terrible time of year full of couples kissing, personally I cant wait for a ban on "public displays of affection"
Its a horrible influence on children, we might as well be showing porno in public schools.

The current – Holy Week – issue of Newsweek teases readers with the headline “Is God Real?,” and features a debate between a prominent evangelical pastor and an outspoken atheist.
An April 3 New York Times article dismisses the story of Moses parting the Red Sea as a “myth.”
Newsweek’s March 19 cover story, “The Evolution Revolution,” showcases the latest evolutionary theories attempting to explain the development of humanity without God.
The news media have promoted not one but two different Gospel of Judas books in the past few weeks, along with a purported secret gospel written by Mark.
The arts world has mocked Jesus with a life-sized, nude, anatomically correct sculpture made of chocolate, and a papier mache sculpture portraying Him as Illinois senator Barack Obama.
On March 4, the Discovery Channel took the prize, by broadcasting a documentary claiming to have disproved the foundational belief of Christianity: that Jesus rose from the dead.

As was reported two years ago, some malls in Florida and elsewhere in the country are forbidding the term "easter Bunny" and replacing it with "Garden Bunny". UPDATE: The malls have proactively decided to scrap the term "Garden Bunny" because of "Garden of Gethsemane" is mentioned in the New Testament of the Bible.

Dave Woosie, a vice president of a chain of Florida malls, said that because the "Garden of Gethsemane" is the scene of one of the most dramatic events of Bible History on The Fateful Night before the Crucifixion the term garden may offend non-christians and non-Bible believers.

Other names like "Walking Bunny", "Miracle Bunny" and "Love Bunny" were all vetoed as well because Jesus walked on water, performed miracles and commanded people to love thy neighbor.

At this time the faux furred biped is just being called the "Mall Bunny" since there were no known malls, as we know them today, in Jesus' day.

I don't care if the secular left is offended by a bunny...It has nothing to do with the religious holiday. I am a bit offended by the commercialization of the resurrection of Christ with bunnies and colored eggs myself.

I wouldn't care if the secular left was offended by an Easter drag racer or an Easter vidoe game either.... they have nothing to do with Easter.

Because Christians have worked so long denying the Jewish origins of the religion that they have almost perfectly removed Passover from the minds of Christians and the significant place of the egg in that holiday.

The coloring was later added, as was the silly story of the bunny to help convince Pagans to join as well. However the egg has a more significant meaning than just "Pagan". It is a direct allusion to the mourning after burial in the Jewish tradition. The first thing they are given at that time is an egg. The egg is included in Passover Seder to remind them of mourning, as well as to allude to specific sacrifices made at that time.

Early Christians included the egg in their celebrations as they were celebrating both what became known as Easter, as well as Passover.

Modern celebrations of Passover still include the egg (in the past it was baked, more modernly it is hard boiled and the Seder dinner includes salt water to represent tears in which to dip the egg and the bitter herbs) as does Easter, however Christians have largely lost the symbolism of it.

Early Christians included the egg to remind them of the mourning of the apostles during the burial of Christ's body. It does not only have Pagan meaning. Only the coloring of the egg that was later added to convince Pagans to change religions and the addition of the silly bunny story has any significant Pagan origin.
