Early Voting affirmed in Ohio victory for Obama

If you want to privatize Social Security and Medicare, lower taxes for the rich, outlaw abortion, and start a new war with Iran, vote Republican.

Yup, I predict that Romney has already drawn up plans for US troops in Syria. What does he care, as long as it isn't one of his priviledged boys.

You kids go ahead and relax :)

WE are coming again..and Bammy is going home...Romney is going to win Ohio, despite HuffPo's lies.

This is more a victory for Ohio voters. It shouldn't matter who they vote for. For one political party to try to suppress legitimate voters, is seriously warped. The GOP will pay for their shenanigans on November 6th.

Apparantly not a single one of you actually read the article. Because if you had you would have noticed the part below. This could actually be a big victory for Romney.

The practical effects of the ruling are still very much in the air, however. Republican Secretary of State John Husted had refused to restore those three days of early voting after the lower court decision. And the appellate court decision expressly leaves the final decision about whether to keep the polls open or not on those days to individual county elections boards.

Those election boards have two members each from either party -- and the Republican secretary of state is the tiebreaker if necessary. So it's easy to envision a scenario in which Husted still blocks voting on those three days in predominantly urban and Democratic counties.

So not only in this not a victory for Obama, but it could actually be a big victory for Romney if Husted, and Republican board members block voting early voting in Democratic areas, and allow early voting for Republican areas. Husted is the tie breaker in each country if the 2 Republicans, and 2 Democrats in a county disagree.

I predict that if Romney wins a lot of you nuts are gonna take it really hard.

THIS THREAD IS NOT A CONSPIRACY! It sound like one and it is hard to believe, but the GOP is pulling out all stops in Ohio to suppress legitimate voters.

The powers that be here on USMB are reactionary and in some cases simple minded. Voter suppression is a fact. Not a theory. There is a conspiracy but it is real and it is aimed at reducing the number of predictably democratic voters. This MB is usually the best that can be found on the nets. Sometimes they drop the ball. This would be one of those times.

Simple Thread Suppression

It doesn't matter who the Victory is for. It is the GOP who is trying to suppress voters in Ohio. It is a Huge act of Hypocricy. Maybe you should call the head Repub in Ohio and tell them to stop trying to suppress the vote, if this is so good for Willard.

We started early voting in CA on the 9th. We've had a fair clip of people voting early. We're emailing out our overseas ballots at a rapid fire pace too. Requests pouring in by the minute.

Online voter registration has been booming too.

According to the Secretary of State's office, in the first three weeks, approximately 380,000 people used the online application to register for the first time or to update their existing voter records.

The GOP is trying its best to keep the disenfranchised away from the polls. The good old "Constitution" Party is doing everything it can to take away this constitutional right...

.....like the way the Administration is suppressing the military vote and putting out bogus economic reports to suppress the conservative vote....

...excuse me....you were saying???

Conservatives just hate voting by illegal immigrants and other illegal voting. Too bad the potus doesn't feel the same way, but him being a socialist doesn't surprise me.

No, that does not wash with legitimate early voting. You can use that excuse with Voter ID, and you can try to reimpose the Poll Tax. But early voting is being suppressed by the GOP for one reason. That is to keep the poor and disadvantaged away from the polls.

The Repub feeling is if someone cannot drive their Cadillac to the polls and vote, then they don't deserve to vote at all. The Repub Attorney General in Ohio is working day and night trying to figure out how to keep the poor, people of color, and anyone that does not fit the squeaking white model of a Repub, away from the polls. Hypocrites who say "Uphold the Constiitution!!" Right... Then they turn around and begin planning on how to keep people from voting.

So how does early voting help poor folks...they can go to the polls on election day...people who work, would benefit more, would they not?

Everyone and anyone benefits from early voting. We've had people voting early for any number of reasons...leaving on vacation, going out of town for work, home for the weekend from college, going in for surgery, and on and on.

I'm hand delivering a ballot to a woman that wanted to vote before going out of town, but just had knee surgery. (on my lunch break, budget hawks)

Oh, and she's a Republican.

I was saying... "All forms of election tampering are wrong and should be prosecuted."
