Strange that the police haven't found any evidence of gun fire, no casings or bullet holes...someone heard what they thought were gunshots as opposed to engines backfiring, for example, and the Liverpool Echo goes into overdrive, along with 2aguy, our friendly neighbourhood gun nut.
