A business developer in the Philadelphia neighborhood of Point Breeze is facing legal action after voluntarily cleaning up more than 40 tons of trash from a vacant lot neighboring his local business.

Very odd.

Although he didn't have the right to touch someone else's property, you'd think the city would let it slide considering how much he spent cleaning it up.

apparently the city owns the property and refused to clean it up themselves and now they want to get him on trespassing for fixing up their mess.

he might... if the city wrongfully denied his request or improvidently denied his request to clean up the property.

but they had to take action against him or they could lose the land by adverse possession. it's more about asserting the city's right to the real property than anything else, i'd guess.

and they had no choice in protecting their property ownership.
