Do you support the Democratic Party’s plan to shut down the government?

Do you support the Democratic Party’s plan to shut down the government?

Democrats? Really? Which branches of government do they control?
The Senate. Until such time as the filibuster rule is removed.

that wasn't a factor when the vote came up for the tax scam. huh... maybe the (R)s shoulda thought that one out first, 'eh?
If you understand the rules of the Senate, you'll understand that applies ONLY to specific instances.

Since is it VERY REASONABLE to want to solve the DACA problem permanently, and the requirements the GOP and Trump have asked for to accomplish that goal, then to hold out against it is really just tantamount to the Democrats choosing foreigners over Americans; shutting down the government to achieve it as well.

ummmm don'tcha know comprehensive immigration reform bills have been written & just can't get on the floor for a vote? & whooooooooooo has been in the majority for years?
Do you know what 'Comprehensive' means in D.C.?

It means we're hiding shit from the American people.

for the dreamers, yes. but, i was never in favor of DAPA.

Last time I checked the Republican party had a majority in the House and the Senate.

I'm not sure therefore how the Democrats can be blamed for the fact that the Republicans cannot whip their own members?

It really matters very little what the majority of Americans want. We've seen that over the past 60 years or so.

Reform is NOT found ONLY in comprehensive bills.

They could do it one issue at a time. They can combine issues.

What I wonder is how the American people would react or 'want' if they were given the choice of solving the DACA problem once and for all, or if they thought it was good to promote foreigners ahead of Americans in the name of 'reform'?

I'll compromise and allow the illegals to stay if we make sure that from this day forward, we deport (without qualification) anyone who is found in our country without the proper authorization to be here, regardless of age. And that to ensure that further generations do not attempt to circumvent this law, we create a wall where prudent, suitable substitution of technology and manpower where it isn't, replaces the wall, and enforcement against businesses that hire illegals with severe penalties. In other words, we utilize the entire gamut of tools to ensure we are protected.

In addition, no immigrant may be allowed to bring into this country with them anyone not directly descended from them (meaning children only) and one spouse. No brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, fathers, mothers, cousins, or any other 'extended' family member.

After all those qualifications have been met, ONLY those people who can fulfill a role in our society and advance our society above all others will be permitted.

If they cannot contribute AND assimilate into our culture, they are to be denied.

Agreed?

Last time I checked, a filibuster rule could stop the majority in the Senate.

Without both houses, no bill goes to the President.

Simple political science for America.

Its exactly what will bite them in the ass come November if the Republicans have any brains at all and the Dems shut down that 0.0034% of government.

Yes, deport regardless of age. Just because some 10-year-old manages to cross the border, he should be entitled to stay here?

Definitely not. He goes on a bus to Tijuana.

Do you support the Democratic Party’s plan to shut down the government for the racist left wing hate groups such as La Raza, Mecha and the racist Aztlan Nationalist?

Government shutdown looms with no DACA deal in sight
The Democrats are acting rationally. They are exploiting the GOP's massive weakness for overspending.

If the GOP wasn't in the position of needing to borrow more money from China to finance their profligacy, the Democrats would have no leverage.

I believe the American people are tired of it and there has been ample proof over the past year that the Democrats have no vision, positive or otherwise, for America.

I believe that can and will be used against them.

The Republican requirements for this issue are far more than reasonable and the American people will see that.

The Republican requirement is that they need to borrow more money from China to fund their massive deficit spending, and have thus put themselves in a position to be blackmailed.

They have no one but themselves to blame.
